The DLA-RS4200 is the ultimate 8K e-shiftX home theater projector. The high-end projector is built with hand-selected components. The projector is equipped with a cinema filter and ultra-high contrast optics. Thanks to the technologies used and the 100mm lens, the DLA-RS4200 produces the sharpest and most vivid image in the world.

Third Generation D-ILA 4K Technology - Upgrade

The JVC DLA-RS4200 projectors feature native 4K resolution that delivers incredibly sharp images. They are so detailed and smooth that it is hard to believe your eyes. The heart of the projectors are 3 D-ILA panels, which are the best image display technology among all currently available on the market. JVCKenwood is constantly working on improving it. The third generation of 0,69-inch D-ILA panels improved liquid crystal alignment control and increased image pixel flatness, offering a 1,5 times higher native contrast ratio compared to second-generation panels. In addition, improvements in the panel production process resulted in improved image uniformity on the screen and increased image quality.

D-ILA technology provides visuals and image depth unparalleled by competitors.

Unmatched black level and high luminance provide images full of realism

The new JVC Reference Series projectors offer industry-leading native contrast with 0,69-inch 4K Gen3 D-ILA panels and a wire-grid optical engine for managing light polarity. Combined with dynamic laser light control, which analyzes the video signal and automatically controls the amount of outgoing laser light, it is possible to achieve a dynamic contrast level of ∞:1 (infinity up to 1) in scenes with total blackness by completely turning off the light source. As a result, you can get images full of realism, closer to human perception. In addition, the new algorithm enables more precise laser control, adapting to user preferences.

Exceptional brightness and lifespan with BLU-Escent laser - Upgrade

An important aspect of projectors is the light source. The DLA-RS series uses the original JVC "BLU-Escent Laser" laser light source to achieve an exceptional peak brightness of 3 300 lumens on the DLA-RS4200 and 2 700 lumens on the RS3200, with a lifespan of 20 000 hours. Compared to the first generation of laser projectors (DLA-Z1), the brightness of projectors per unit of effective power has improved 1,9-fold, which in turn also contributes to energy savings through better energy efficiency.

Brightness control in 101 steps

The BLU-Escent laser can precisely adjust the luminance depending on the environment and preferences, using the control of the light source with a slider. A total of 101 (0 to 100) luminance control degrees are available, which can be used to precisely adjust the target luminance in the environment and on the screen.

Support 8192x4096 signal with 8K e-shiftX Gen2 technology

JVC 's proprietary 8K/e-shiftX technology, which combines "e-shift technology" - a high-resolution display technology that doubles the resolution by shifting the pixel by 0.5 pixels in four directions (up, down, left and right) - and 0.69-inch native 4K D-ILA panels, has been significantly improved compared to the previous generation 8K/e-shiftX. The latest version includes the latest 8K scaling engine from JVC, which drastically improves image sharpness and detail across a wide range of content, including 8K sources (8192 x 4320 pixels).

2.1 48Gbps HDMI inputs - support 8K60p and 4K120p

The JVC DLA-RS4200 projector is equipped with 2 HDMI inputs in the latest 2.1 standard with HDCP 2.3 capable of displaying images with 48Gbps bandwidth at 8K 60 frames per second. The projectors use the most technologically advanced LSI (Large Scale Integrated) converter that allows you to process a huge amount of data instantly and flawlessly from the HDMI input to the D-ILA converter. Additionally, using 4K120p input with Low Latency Mode improves response to fast player operations, making it a great solution for displaying games in high frame rates on large screens.

Display Mastering Luminance (DML) for even better HDR - New

DML (Max Display Mastering Luminance) metadata, which represents the level of professional monitor rivets used to gradate the film according to the director’s standards, is used to set the dynamic range of the title for better HDR tone mapping. In the DLA-RS4200/RS3200 series, both DML and MaxCLL values are used to set the characteristics of HDR levels.

High quality glass lens with a diameter of 100mm

The advanced DLA-RS4200 is equipped with a lens with 18 elements in 16 groups, made entirely of glass and with a full aluminum tube. To display high-resolution 8K images in every corner of the screen, the projector includes five ED lenses calibrated for differences in R/G/B refractive index, which reduces chromatic aberration and color blur when the lens is moved, providing precise 4K or 8K projection reproduction.

Multi Pixel Control algorithm to improve image sharpness

To further improve 8K material reproduction, JVC used sampling of each pixel from a 4K signal to deliver smooth, faithfully rendered images. The MPC algorithm supports full 8K signal in 60 frames and 4K signal in 120 frames (4:4:4).

High natural and dynamic contrast

The D-ILA 4K panel and optical system provide natural contrast higher than 150,000:1. In addition, combined with the dynamic control of the BLU-Escent light source, the projector can achieve an astonishing dynamic contrast of ∞ (infinity) :1.

Brightness 3300 lumens - Upgrade

The new D-ILA JVC DLA-R4200 projector achieves an astonishing brightness of 3300 lumens using a laser light source. Vivid, detailed 4K footage can therefore be displayed even in environments not fully adapted to view high-quality images, such as living rooms or living rooms, where it is not possible to completely limit outdoor light.

Ultra-high contrast optics

The new ultra-high contrast optical system used in the DLA-RS4200 projector has contributed to an optical brightness of up to 3300 lumens. The new optical system has also dramatically improved image quality by accurately suppressing unnecessary beams of light escaping through the lens towards the projection screen.

Wider color palette coverage thanks to cinema filter

The use of a laser light source and cinema filters makes it possible to obtain a wide color palette corresponding to DCI-P3, not to mention BT.709. When the DLA-RS4200 or RS3200 projector displays HDR content, rich color reproduction is possible, such as sky and ocean gradations, the contrast of red roses or a row of fresh green trees.

2 tonal mappings: HDR10 with Frame Adapt HDR Gen2 and HDR10+ Upgrade

HDR (High Dynamic Range) definitely increases the power of image expression. The new JVC Reference models perfectly reproduce HDR video rich in extended brightness ranges, BT.2020 wide color gamut and 10-bit gradation. Projectors support popular HDR formats, including HDR10 for Blu-ray and streaming, HLG for TV channels, and the latest HDR10+ signal format with support for dynamic metadata.

JVC projectors are compatible with two dynamic types of tonal mapping: Frame Adapt HDR and HDR10+.

In HDR10, the basic for HDR content playback, only two pieces of information are available: MaxCLL, which represents the maximum brightness of the content, and MaxFALL, which represents the average maximum brightness. In HDR10+, however, information about the brightness of each scene is embedded in the content as metadata, which allows you to map tones specific to each scene and faithfully reproduce the HDR image intended by the creator.

Frame Adapt HDR, which uses a patented algorithm to instantly analyze the maximum brightness of any HDR10 content based on a scene or frame and perform real-time tone mapping to the optimal dynamic range for video projection, has evolved to the second generation (Gen2). The tone mapping algorithm has been redefined to achieve HDR images with even higher resolution. In addition, the patented tonal curve selection algorithm has also been improved to reproduce HDR images that are brighter, more colorful and have a wider dynamic range.

Deeper blacks for even richer gradation

A new Deep Black feature has been added to Frame Adapt HDR and with it a new algorithm designed to further darken tones in dark areas for a more realistic black. This feature maximizes the dynamic range of new generations of 4K D-ILA devices and delivers images with more contrast than ever before. Scenes with light and dark shades, such as night landscapes, can be displayed with greater realism.

New Vivid Mode display for SDR content

To recreate SDR content with a narrow dynamic range in more saturated colors, the conventional Natural mode has been upgraded to the new “Vivid” mode. This mode is great for displaying animated SDR content that is popular in streaming content, and for computer games, providing greater vibrancy.

Clear Motion Drive and Motion Enhance technologies to improve traffic flow

The DLA-RS4200 has improved Clear Motion Drive motion interpolation technology by adapting it to native 4K panels. This ensured dynamic images were displayed smoothly and blur-free both when projecting FullHD, 4K and full 4K@120Hz 4:4:4 resolution images. Motion Enhance technology has also been implemented to ensure even greater clarity of images on the move.

Low Latency Mode significantly reducing frame latency when playing

The availability of new high-tech gaming consoles has contributed to the development of 4K/HDR10+ games. The new JVC DLA-RS3200 offers a low-latency mode that provides significant frame latency reduction and allows you to enjoy a small input lag in computer games. Low Latency improves the processing of high-bandwidth signals such as 4K10bit, 12bit, etc., directly, without compression, in order to preserve the quality of the original. It also improves image quality and speeds up processes, which has a significant impact on reducing frame latency when playing games.

Additionally, thanks to the fact that the projectors support 4K120p signals, the latency is minimal, which makes them ideal for displaying high refresh rate games on a large screen. What’s more, low latency mode reduces delays in displaying PC and gaming signals, as well as improves response time to fast user actions

ISF certificate

The new JVC DLA-RS4200 projectors are ISF ccc® certified, which guarantees the possibility of perfect calibration by a qualified calibrator. The projector has the ability to adjust settings very precisely, and professional calibration ensures an ideal image consistent with the director's intentions, taking into account projection screen parameters, lighting conditions and signal sources.

Autocalibration

Thanks to the automatic calibration function, the user can enjoy optimally set image parameters regardless of installation conditions such as projector location, zoom position or lens-shift settings. In addition, calibration is an excellent solution for compensating for the wrong color balance that occurs over time when the projector is used.

*Calibration function requires the use of an optional optical sensor and dedicated software as well as a PC and LAN cable.

Theater Optimizer

Projector screen brightness varies depending on screen size, projection surface amplification, frequency of use and settings. JVC projectors intelligently adjust tonal reproduction so that content can be viewed with the right brightness by automatically analyzing the environment in which the projector is used. By entering the screen size and amplification, the projector gets information in Theater Optimizer for Frame Adapt HDR image mode. This ensures reference image quality with the right brightness, suitable for a specific home theater environment.

Wide image adjustment options

Wide image setting options allowing for both professional color adjustment (6-axis color adjustment system), white balance, gamma, as well as brightness or contrast. JVC projectors known for their ability to achieve an almost perfect reference image after calibration. For me demanding, an automatic calibration option is available.

Color convergence adjustment function

The pixel position correction function used in the projectors allows you to adjust the color convergence with an accuracy of 1/16 pixel. The matrix is divided into segments giving the possibility of partial correction of convergence in up to 121 points. The result is a clear image with no color deviations.
