Purpose
Edimax IGS-1210P is an unmanaged Gigabit switch designed for creating wired Ethernet networks in industrial and office installations, offering PoE+ power to devices such as cameras, IP phones or access points.
Ports and PoE power
The device is equipped with eight RJ-45 10/100/1000 Mbps ports with PoE+ function, compliant with IEEE 802.3at standard, and two SFP sockets for fiber optic connections. Six basic PoE functions include power supply to end devices and Power Backfeed Protection, which reduces the risk of reverse voltage supply to the power source.
Network performance
The switch provides bandwidth of 20 Gbit/s at redirect speeds of up to 14,88 Mpps, a MAC array with a capacity of about 4K entries, and support for jumbo frames of up to 9216 bytes, which improves performance when transferring larger data packets. The device is unmanaged - the lack of a web interface and the CLI console simplifies installation and operation in networks where advanced management functions are not required.
Construction and installation
The IGS-1210P has a compact industrial housing suitable for installation in network installations; the dimensions of the device are approximately Wys. 210 mm × Head 45 mm × W 160,6 mm and net weight is about 1,118 kg. The two SFP modules allow for flexible uplink connections, while the robust design makes it easy to install in environments with increased installation requirements.
