AIR PLAZMA 85 cutter in a new version. It is designed for manual or machine air plasma cutting of electrically conductive elements made of carbon and alloy steels, aluminum and its alloys, brass, copper and cast iron.

The device is equipped with a burner that allows cutting in hard-to-reach places and in all possible positions. The AIR PLAZMA 85 V2 plasma cutter has a contactless arc and a pilot arc. The cutter can be used in production processes, for workshop work, renovation, as well as scrap metal cutting.

The device was built on the basis of the latest technology using IGBT transistors, which translates into reduced electromagnetic interference, low power losses, increased efficiency and reliability of the power source and reduced energy consumption. The cutter is equipped with overload thermal protection. Its advantage is low weight and smooth adjustment of cutting current ensuring high quality of material cutting.

WHAT IS PLASMA CUTTING

Plasma is an ionized matter with a gas-like state of aggregation. Thanks to its specific properties, it is called the fourth state of matter. The plasma is composed of both electrically charged and inert particles. Atoms and electrons co-occupy in plasma, but the entire volume occupied by plasma is electrically neutral. Due to the presence of a large number of ions with different charges and free electrons, plasma conducts an electric current, but its resistance, unlike metals, decreases with increasing temperature.

Plasma cutting (plasma cutting) involves melting and ejecting metal from the cutting gap with a highly concentrated plasma electric arc with high kinetic energy, glowing between the non-melting electrode and the cut object. Plasma is created using a plasma cutting torch. Passing a stream of compressed gas through a glowing electric arc causes its ionization and thanks to a high power density, a stream of plasma is produced. The nozzle mounted in the burner focuses the plasma arc. The cooled walls of the nozzle cause narrowing of the arc column.

✴ The principle of plasma cutting uses high temperature in the nucleus of the plasma arc (10000÷30000K) and very high speed of plasma flux, which causes the cut material to be melted and blown out of the gap. A commonly used plasma-forming gas is air.
