Citrulline and arginine are a great choice before training
The use of L-citrulline prior to physical activity is widely recognized as it can increase the amount of L-arginine in plasma and thus enhance nitric oxide-dependent signaling. What does that mean? Scientific studies have confirmed that citrulline increases the level of nitric oxide in the blood and the availability of arginine, which is necessary for the synthesis of nitric oxide. Nitric oxide not only dilates blood vessels (this is the one known to everyone “muscle pump”), but also affects the regulation of many physiological functions of skeletal muscles, e.g. such as glucose uptake and oxidation, systolic functions and muscle repair by activating the appropriate cells. Therefore, the use of citrulline and arginine before training is popular, because it is about increased production of nitric oxide, which is involved in muscle function (1).
What are the properties of taurine?
Taurine is a sulfur-containing amino acid that can be derived from cysteine metabolism and accounts for 50 to 60% of the free amino acid pool. It is an important free amino acid that plays little or no role in protein synthesis. However, it is important because it plays many roles in metabolic and physiological processes, e.g. such as regulation of ion channels, cell volume and stabilization of membranes, but also participation in the regulation of glucose and lipids or in energy metabolism. Taurine by its participation in metabolic activity is considered a potential ergogenic aid. According to available scientific publications, taurine can be used to improve exercise results, as it can increase fat oxidation by changing the intracellular and extracellular metabolic environment (2, 3).
What is added B vitamins?
B vitamins are important for every person, but they are also particularly important for people conducting intense workouts. Niacin, pantothenic acid, riboflavin and vitamins B6 and B12 contribute to the maintenance of normal energy metabolism, as well as to the reduction of fatigue and fatigue. In addition, vitamin B6 contributes to the maintenance of normal protein and glycogen metabolism, folates help in the proper synthesis of amino acids, and pantothenic acid contributes to the proper synthesis and metabolism of steroid hormones, vitamin D and some neurotransmitters. In BOOM you will also find vitamin C, which helps in the proper functioning of the immune system, and vitamin E, which supports the protection of cells against oxidative stress (4).
Time for training? Time for a big BOOM from 6PAK Nutrition!
