Why did we combine Omega-3 with vitamin D3 and K2?

On the market, it is very common to find a situation in which one person takes several different preparations every day - separately Omega-3, separately vitamin D3, and also vitamin K2. We decided to combine them in one formula, because they are one of the most frequently supplemented nutrients.

This combination also has a biological justification. Vitamins D3, K2 and E are fat-soluble vitamins, which is why the presence of fish oil is a natural environment for them. At the same time, each of these components performs a completely different function in the body.

EPA and DHA acids support the proper functioning of the heart, brain and vision. Vitamin D helps maintain immunity, healthy bones, muscles and proper calcium-phosphate management. Vitamin K participates in the activation of proteins responsible, among others, for normal bone metabolism and blood clotting.

We did not want to create another product like “Omega-3 with added vitamins”. The goal was to combine two wholesome supplements in one convenient, daily serving.

Why is the product liquid and not capsules?

The liquid form allows you to deliver more oil without having to swallow multiple capsules.

For comparison - to get a similar amount of EPA and DHA, in many capsule preparations you need to take 3 to even 6 capsules a day. In the case of liquid form, one portion measured with a dropper is enough.

The liquid also gives greater dosage freedom. If necessary, the portion can be easily adapted to the individual recommendations of the specialist.

An additional advantage is the ability to combine a high dose of omega-3 acids with vitamins D3, K2 and E without having to increase the number of capsules.

Why do we use fish oil and not algae oil?

Both fish oil and algae oil can be good sources of omega-3 fatty acids. However, they differ in the profile of fatty acids.

Most algae oils primarily provide DHA, but contain little or no EPA. Meanwhile, both EPA and DHA perform important, though slightly different functions in the body.

Fish do not produce omega-3s on their own. They accumulate them because they feed on microalgae or organisms that have previously consumed them. Microalgae are the primary source of EPA and DHA in the marine environment.

We chose high-quality fish oil because it allows us to obtain the right amounts of both the most important omega-3 acids - EPA and DHA - in one portion of the product.

Omega-3 acids EPA and DHA are among the most important fats used by the human body. Unlike most fats, they do not only have an energy function - they are primarily the building material of cells. Each cell of our body is surrounded by a cell membrane, and one of its most important components are fatty acids.

The quality of cell membranes depends, among other things, on efficient transport of nutrients, receiving signals from the environment and proper communication between cells. It can be said that the cell membrane is something like an intelligent boundary - it decides what can get inside the cell and what should remain outside.

Particularly high concentrations of DHA are found in the brain and retina of the eye. DHA is estimated to account for about 30-40% of all fatty acids present in the brain, so its adequate supply is extremely important for the proper functioning of the nervous system. EPA, on the other hand, plays an important role in the processes taking place in the cardiovascular and immune systems.

The body can only convert plant-based ALA into EPA and DHA to a very small extent - often less than a few percent. That is why fatty sea fish and high-quality fish oils are the most valuable source of these acids.

EPA and DHA help maintain normal heart function. DHA helps maintain proper brain function and vision. This is why omega-3 fatty acids are among the best-studied nutrients in the world.

Vitamin K2 often remains in the shadow of vitamin D, although both form an extremely important duo. Their action complements each other - vitamin D increases the amount of calcium absorbed from the digestive tract, while vitamin K helps activate proteins responsible for its proper use in the body.

This is why it is often recommended to supplement them together.

In our product we used menaquinone-7 (MK-7) - the best known and most frequently chosen form of vitamin K2. Compared to the MK-4 form, it stays in the blood for up to several dozen hours, thanks to which the body has access to it much longer.

Vitamin K helps maintain healthy bones and contributes to normal blood clotting. Thanks to the MK-7 form, supplementation can be more stable and comfortable.
