Lutein & Zeaxanthin by NOW Foods is a high-quality supplement containing natural substances that support vision.

Lutein and zeaxanthin are classified as carotenoids. These are natural orange-red pigments produced by plants. We obtain them in the diet from colorful fruits and vegetables. In the body, lutein and zeaxanthin are the dominant pigments concentrated in the macula, a specialized area of the eye responsible for central vision. The unique molecular structure of carotenoids means that they can absorb light (especially blue), which can be harmful to sensitive eye structures. The main role of both lutein and zeaxanthin in these sensitive tissues is to neutralize free radicals formed as a result of exposure to light and thus support eye health.
