Feverfew by NOW Foods is a natural herbal supplement created for people suffering from migraine headaches. It contains an extract of maruna gold (Tanacetum parthenium), called rotisserie. This herb has been used in Europe for centuries by traditional herbalists. They were used in the fight against headaches, cough, fever or rheumatism. Due to its widespread use, maruna gold was often called "medieval aspirin". Recent studies indicate that its main bioactive compound is parthenolide. One capsule of Feverfew contains 0,5% to 0,7% parthenolide.

Parthenolide is a compound with multidirectional action. In addition to its anti-inflammatory and anti-migraine properties, it also has anti-cancer activity. It protects healthy cells from UVB radiation and oxidative stress [1].

Already in the 70s. Twentieth century, it has been proven that maruna leaf extract relieves migraine attacks. Subsequent experiments confirmed its effectiveness. Prophylactic use of maruna gold has been shown to reduce the incidence of migraine, reduce its severity and reduce accompanying symptoms such as nausea or vomiting [2].
