Prenatal® DHA is a dietary supplement designed to supplement the daily diet of women from the beginning of pregnancy to the end of breastfeeding. Essential fatty acids from the omega-3 family are important both in the diet of a woman expecting a baby and during lactation, when the developing baby draws nutrients from breast milk. Consumption of docosahexae­new acid (DHA) by the mother supports the normal development of the eyes and brain in the fetus and breastfed infants. The beneficial effect occurs when you consume 200 mg of DHA per day above the recommended daily intake of omega-3 fatty acids for adults, i.e. 250 mg DHA and Eicosapentaenoic Acid (EPA). At the same time, consuming 250 mg of DHA per day, coming from all sources in a properly selected and balanced diet, contributes to maintaining the proper functioning of the brain as well as proper vision. Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) also support the proper functioning of the heart. The beneficial effect occurs when consuming 250 mg of EPA and DHA per day.
