Medverita Tryptophan
Tryptophan (TRP) is an organic chemical compound that is a protein amino acid. In addition, it belongs to the group of essential amino acids, which the body can not synthesize on its own, and therefore must be supplied in the diet. The transformations of tryptophan in the body are a source of important compounds of m.in. niacin, melatonin and serotonin (TRP is a precursor to 5-HTP).
Tryptophan is an amino acid necessary for the proper functioning of the nervous system, maintaining intestinal homeostasis and immune functions. It is responsible, among others, for maintaining mood, resistance to stress, regulation of the circadian cycle.
