The dietary supplement L-selenomethionine is a preparation in the form of a capsule containing selenium in the active form of L-selenomethionine Selenium SeLECT®.

Selenomethionine is an organic form of selenium, where selenium replaces sulfur in the methionine molecule, a protein amino acid. Selenium, which is an essential micronutrient, performs key functions in the body, including protection against oxidative stress and regulation of thyroid metabolism. Selenomethionine is characterized by high bioavailability, which means that it is easily absorbed and used by the body.

Selen is an integral component of selenoproteins such as glutathione peroxidase and thyroid deiodinases, which are crucial for protecting cells from oxidative damage and for the proper functioning of thyroid hormones. The absorption of selenomethionine in the intestines is carried out by the same mechanism as for methionine, which increases the efficiency of this process.

Selenomethionine acts as a reservoir of selenium in the body, allowing it to be gradually released, which ensures a stable level of this element in the circulation. It participates in the synthesis and regeneration of DNA, supporting the repair of genetic damage and protecting against mutations. In addition, selenomethionine affects immune function by modulating the inflammatory response and supporting the activity of natural killer (NK) cells.

Ingredients: microcrystalline cellulose, hydroxypropylcellulose – vegetable capsule, L-selenomethionine, L-leucine.

Recommended daily dose: 1 capsule.
