Nattokinase is a natural enzyme derived from natto. Natto is a traditional Japanese fermented soybean food that has been consumed for thousands of years for its numerous health-promoting properties. In the production process, non-GMO natto soybeans are cooked and fermented using friendly Bacillus subtilis bacteria that produce nattokinase. The nattokinase enzyme used in Doctor's Best does not have vitamin K (vitamin K has been removed because it affects blood clotting).
