The first dietary supplement on the market that allows you to enrich your diet with butyric acid without increasing your sodium intake thanks to the use of calcium salt of butyric acid instead of the commonly used sodium butyrate.

Calcium butter is less soluble in aqueous solutions than sodium butyrate which, combined with the patented encapsulation and suspension technology in a special matrix, makes its release longer in the intestinal passage and more controlled (reaches the right place in the digestive system).

Butyric acid is one of the short chain fatty acids (SCFA) physiologically produced in the intestines in the process of fiber fermentation, research on the occurrence and role of SCFA in the digestive system has been ongoing for over 40 years.

The largest (~ 80%) share in SCFA present in the human digestive system are 3 types of acids: acetic, propionic and butyric occurring in fairly constant proportions: 60:25:15.

The proportion of butyric acid is the smallest, but it is the main source of energy for colonocytes (colon epithelial cells) and stimulates their growth and differentiation. Acetate and propionate are metabolized after the use of butter.

The unique patented microPEARLS™ production technology provides the effect of prolonged and controlled release of butyric acid in the digestive tract. Compared to unencapsulated calcium butyrate, Butishield is much more resistant to decomposition at a lower pH of the initial sections of the digestive system and thus most of it reaches the large intestine where it is most needed.

Resistant starch is a specially processed form of starch that is not digested in the upper parts of the digestive tract, thanks to which it reaches the large intestine, bringing health benefits. Its production consists in modifying the starch structure, which gives it unique properties such as higher resistance to digestion and the ability to ferment in the intestines. In addition, it supports the growth of beneficial gut bacteria such as L. plantarum, L. gasseri, L. helveticus, A. muciniphila, has a low glycemic index.

Resistance starch increases the production of short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), including propionate, butyrate and acetate, which is crucial for the gut.

Ingredients: calcium salt of butyric acid (calcium butter), matrix: certified completely hydrogenated palm oil without trans isomers, rapeseed lecithin, thickener: maize starch, bulking agent: corn fiber (resistant starch), microcrystalline cellulose.

Recommended daily intake necessary to obtain the beneficial effect of the product: 1 tablet twice a day (morning and evening). It is recommended to use the preparation for at least 3 months. Do not exceed the recommended portion for consumption. The product cannot be used as a substitute (replacement) for a varied diet.
