How to measure pressure?
Useful tips, especially for people with hypertension:
Rest for 5 minutes before measuring.
Measurement should be done in a quiet place.
Before and during the measurement, you should relax, during the measurement you should not speak or move.
The center of the cuff should be at the height of the right atrium of the heart.
Before starting the measurement, sit comfortably without crossing your legs, setting your feet flat on the ground. The back and hands should be supported.
For comparable results, try to measure pressure under similar conditions. For example, measure at the same time every day and keep the same hand position or in the way your doctor recommends.
Choosing the right cuff is extremely important. The size of the cuff depends on the circumference of the arm (measured in the middle). The acceptable range is printed on the cuff. Cuffs that are too narrow or too short cause false measurements. Loose cuff or excess cuff protruding from the side cause incorrect measurement values. Use only approved cuffs!
The attached cuff operates in a pressure range of 0-300 mmHg and a wide range of sizes: 22 to 40 cm (8,7”- 15,7”).
With repeated measurements, blood accumulates in the arm, which can lead to false results. Subsequent blood pressure measurements should be repeated after 1 minute of rest or after raising your hand to allow the accumulated blood to drain out. If you decide to take the measurement again in averaging mode, wait at least a minute before the next measurement.
