The TP-LINK JetStream TL-SG3210 is a managed guard switch 2 equipped with 8 ports 10/100/1000Mbps. It provides high quality operation, advanced QoS support, threat protection strategies and network management functions at Layer 2. Purpose

 

The TL-SG3210 supports network traffic management and threat protection. IP-MAC-Port-VID binding, and access control lists (ACLs, L2 to L4) protect the network against threats such as broadcast storm, ARP and DoS (Denial-of-Service) attacks, etc. The Quality of Service (QoS, L2 to L4) feature allows you to route network traffic for smooth and faster data transmission. To manage the switch, use the user-friendly interface available through a web browser, CLI console or the use of SNMP and RMON protocols. Network security

TL-SG3210 switch functions such as IP-MAC-Port-VID bindings, port protection, Storm control, DHCP Snooping and IP Source Guard protect against ARP attacks, broadcast storm, etc. You can define common DoS attacks that the TL-SG3216 switch is supposed to detect. Thanks to this, protection against them is more effective than ever before. The use of access control lists (ACLs, L2 to L4) prevents access to specific network resources; the refusal to send packets can be set for specific source or destination MAC addresses, IP addresses, TCP/UDP ports and even VLAN IDs. The device allows you to connect users who do not support the 802.1X protocol as VLAN guests to specific network resources.

 

Advanced QoS features

To provide better audio, data and video transmission over the network, the device uses advanced QoS service options. Network administrators can prioritize network traffic, e.g. for individual IP addresses, MAC addresses, TCP or UDP ports, etc. This ensures that audio and video transmission is smooth, clear, and lag-free. Combined with support for voice transmission on virtual local networks, applications using this feature run smoother and much more efficiently.

 

Layer 2 Switch Features

TL-SG3210 supports Layer 2 switch functions, i.e. VLAN tagging (according to 802.1Q standard), Port Isolation, Port Mirroring, support for STP/RSTP/MSTP protocols, and LACP as well as data flow functions (according to 802.3x standard). In addition, the switch supports advanced network security features, i.e. loopback detection, cable diagnostics or IGMP Snooping. The IGMP snopping technique provides the ability to switch multicast frames only for selected users, while the IGMP throttling & filtering feature restricts access to resources for individual users at the port level.

 

Advanced management features

The TL-SG3210 switch is simple to operate and manage. Device management can be done in different ways, e.g. through an intuitive graphical user interface in a web browser (GUI) or command line interface (CLI). Packet transfer can be protected by SSL or SSH encryption. Support for SNMP (1/2/3) and RMON protocols enables the switch to transmit relevant status information and capture unforeseen events. Thanks to the integrated NDP/NTDP protocol, the switch can be managed through another device that supports IP clustering.
