Why is it important that we have FSSC 22000 certification recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI)?
Because this organization recognizes only 12 of the most demanding certification programs to ensure the safety of food production in the world, including the FSSC 22000 system we have implemented.
This level of certification ensures the safety of products for consumers. As a consumer, you may not know this, but the largest retail chains ordering the production of goods under their own brand choose suppliers only among companies with such certification.
Is HACCP and FSSC 22000 the same level of food production safety?
Sometimes companies emphasize that they have implemented the HACCP system – forgetting unless it is not a special advantage – it is a basic legal requirement for conducting food-related activities in the European Union – colloquially speaking, you need to have implemented HACCP by introducing spices to the market in the same way as e.g. registered economic activity.
HACCP is part of the legal requirements, which is why it is part of FSSC 22000, but many more conditions must be met to implement FSSC 22000.
