Silicate litter – colloquially called silicone litter – is distinguished by very fast odor binding and moisture absorption. Thanks to its porous structure, the litter can absorb even very large amounts of fluids.
The main advantage of silicone litter is that the litter box does not require cleaning after each use. This is because silicone litter absorbs cat urine and accumulates it inside the granules. The litter box therefore does not need to be cleaned after the cat has given urine. Silicone gravels absorb odors quite well. The problem may be the remains of feces remaining on the litter when they are not selected exactly from the litter box.
When we find that the litter is already quite heavily exploited (ugly color and smell), we pour the whole and fill the litter box with fresh litter. Silicone fillers are not suitable for flushing in the toilet.
