Inositol is a vitamin-like organic compound that is sometimes referred to as "vitamin B8". Its biologically active form is myo-inositol, found in plant and animal organisms. Inositol is often called vitamin B8. Inositol is successfully used in the treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). In this syndrome, insulin resistance is a common problem, and thanks to inositol supplementation, parameters directly related to insulin resistance improve. Inositol is the main component of lecithin, functions as a lipotropic substance (i.e. a compound that prevents the accumulation of fat and cholesterol in the liver). It plays an important role in the functioning of the neurotransmitters acetylcholine and serotonin (i.e. increasing the sensitivity of receoptors to serotonin - an important hormone that has an antidepressant effect and regulates the work of the digestive system. Its deficiency may result in lack of appetite or binge eating sugar products). Inositol works well in the case of depressed mood, compulsive neurosis, panic disorder or even depression. Inositol can reduce the level of total cholesterol and LDL fraction (bad cholesterol) and increase the fraction of HDL (good cholesterol). Inositol keeps hair in good condition and prevents hair loss (but this does not apply to genetically determined baldness).
How to use:
1 capsule a day, preferably during a meal.
