The compact combustion saw STIHL MS 172 is a practical, versatile saw for garden care work. The saw has a powerful STIHL 2-MIX engine that combines very good cutting performance with low fuel consumption. The cutting set with a standard 3/8'' chain ensures precise cutting. The STIHL anti-vibration system enables the STIHL MS 172 chainsaw to work in a way that does not burden muscles and joints. Thanks to this, the saw also works quietly and evenly. One lever operation allows you to perform all functions with one hand. If you take a break from work, the saw is immediately ready to restart, because the station wagon lever with stop function automatically returns to the working position. Another advantage is the side chain tensioner that allows you to securely and easily tighten the chain without contact with the blade. STIHL MS 172 also has a diagnostic socket for servicing the combustion saw.

SIDE CHAINSAW TENSIONER

The tensioner screw is rotated by a special knob passing through the cover of the chainsaw drive wheel. This avoids hand contact with the sharp chainsaw and resistance bumper teeth.

Transparent oil tank

Full control of tank filling. Thanks to the transparent tank, you have a full view of the oil level status. The oil can be replenished quickly and conveniently.

STIHL 2-MIX engine

The two-stroke STIHL engine in 2-MIX technology provides high power, and at the same time fuel savings of up to 20% compared to two-stroke STIHL engines of similar power without 2-MIX technology. Exhaust emissions are down by approx. 50%.

Four-channel STIHL technique

In four through channels, the fuel-air mixture is swirled before ignition. This ensures better fuel combustion and significantly increases engine efficiency. The result: lower fuel consumption and high torque in a wide range of revolutions.

Anti-vibration system

The powerful vibrations transmitted by the handles of mechanical devices can lead to vibrational disease. For this reason, STIHL created an anti-vibration system. In mechanical devices equipped with the AV system, the handle zones significantly reduce the number of vibrations produced by the internal combustion engine and the working tool.

COMPENSATOR

Cleaning the filter becomes necessary only when the engine power clearly decreases. The STIHL compensator placed in the carburetor ensures that despite the increase in air filter contamination, engine power, the content of harmful substances in the exhaust gases and fuel consumption remain constant for a long time. In this way, longer work is possible without the need for maintenance.

Estate Lever with STOP button

FACILITATES OPERATION. Only one starting position on the station wagon lever is needed. Thanks to the Stop function, the lever automatically returns to the working position when turned off. Thanks to this, the heated device can be started immediately.
