The GFX100S II is equipped with the newly developed high-speed “GFX 102MP CMOS II” photosensitive sensor with a resolution of 102 megapixels and the latest super-efficient “X-Processor 5” image processing processor. They were included in a compact body weighing about 883 g (with battery and memory card), the lightest in the GFX series. The new mirrorless digital camera allows you to achieve an extraordinary level of image quality.

The GFX100S II offers not only rich tonal expression and the possibility of almost three-dimensional reproduction of recorded frames, for which the unique characteristics of the medium-format matrix are responsible, but also an object recognition function based on artificial intelligence algorithms, which is a significant improvement over the predecessor of the GFX 100S.

With a fast and extremely precise autofocus system and improved continuous shooting speed of up to 7,0 frames per second (with a mechanical shutter), the camera can capture objects in motion with higher precision than ever before. The body image stabilization mechanism (IBIS) has also been improved, operating in five axes, the maximum efficiency of which reaches 8 EV* plots, which is the best achievement in the history of the GFX series.

Featuring the newly developed 102-megapixel "GFX 102MP CMOS II" medium format sensor and the latest high-speed "X-Processor 5" image processing processor, the GFX100S II delivers breathtaking resolution. In addition, the camera faithfully reproduces the recorded scenes down to the smallest details thanks to the use of experience in the field of color reproduction technology cultivated for many years, since the times of analog photographic films.

Thanks to the improved pixel placement structure on the matrix, the depth (capacity) of the so-called has been increased. pixel potential wells, which allowed the ISO80 sensitivity to be used as the base sensitivity. When the base sensitivity is set to ISO80, the camera can capture images with increased dynamic span and reduced noise levels compared to the previous model*.

The microlenses on the new sensor have been improved to increase the efficiency of light utilization at the edges of the sensor, improving, compared to the previous model, the quality of the recorded image and the accuracy of autofocus at the edges of the frame.

Simulation of the film

The GFX100S II offers a total of 20 film simulation modes, including “REALA ACE”, which combines faithful color reproduction and well-defined tonality so that the camera can reproduce a wide range of colors. By choosing the right film simulation mode to match the subject or scene being photographed, the user can enjoy a diverse range of ways to reproduce colors, just as they do when choosing the right photographic film.

Pixel Shift Multi-Shot

The GFX100S II offers a "Pixel Shift Multi-Shot" function that uses an image stabilization mechanism in the body to move the photosensitive sensor with high precision when taking photos.

The camera captures 16 RAW images, moving the sensor 0,5 pixels away with each shot taken. Then, using the dedicated software “Pixel Shift Combiner”, the user can combine 16 RAW files into one resulting file with a resolution of approx. 400 million pixels.

In addition, in “Real Color” mode, 4 RAW files are recorded with a sensor offset of 1 pixel per shot, which allows you to obtain images with a resolution of 102 million pixels, without color distortion. All this takes only ¼ of the time and capacity of the storage medium compared to the previous model.

Efficient IBIS mechanism in a compact body for exceptional imaging quality

• Thanks to the carefully designed IBIS mechanism and the combined operation of the gyroscope sensor and accelerometer, faithfully recording even the lightest movements, and thanks to the use of image information to detect vibrations and improve correction accuracy, the five-axis image stabilization system achieves correction efficiency in the range of up to 8 EV cannons. So you can comfortably shoot even in low light conditions without the need for a tripod.
• The size of the body was maintained at a compact level while increasing the offered camera functionality. His height is ok. 104 mm, and depth approx. 87 mm, just like the previous models in the series. In comparison with the previous version, the weight of the equipment has also been limited, which is approx. 883 g, which makes the GFX100S II the lightest model among the GFX series cameras equipped with a 102-megapixel medium format sensor.
• The GFX100S II uses a "BISHAMON-TEX"* body surface finish, which improves grip confidence when shooting from different angles. • In addition to the improved face and eye detection autofocus function, which owes its performance to improved algorithms, the camera has been equipped with an object recognition function developed using artificial intelligence and deep machine learning technology. The camera can detect animals, birds, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, planes, trains, insects and drones*. While the autofocus layout automatically tracks the selected object, keeping it sharp, the user can focus on the perfect composition of the frame. In addition, the GFX100S II has an improved autofocus predictive algorithm compared to previous models, which is perfect for tracking fast-moving objects.
• With the newly developed 102-megapixel "GFX 102MP CMOS II" photosensitive sensor with increased data read speed and a new shutter control system, the camera achieves continuous shooting performance of 7,0 frames per second. The user can be sure that moments that cannot be missed will be immortalized in the frame.
• The GFX100S II is equipped with an electronic viewfinder with a magnification ratio of 0,84x and a resolution of 5,76 million points. The viewfinder effectively suppresses distortion and “swimming” of the image caused by shifts in the position of the eye, providing an excellent field of view when shooting using the viewfinder.

The ability to record 4K/30P video allows you to produce high-quality footage.

• With the new "GFX 102MP CMOS II" photosensitive sensor, the standard sensitivity in video recording mode is now ISO100. This ensures even higher quality of recorded film materials.
• In video mode, the tracking autofocus function is also available. When autofocus is set to AF-C (continuous autofocus) + Wide/Tracking AF (wide autofocus/tracking), the user can easily film the selected object even in situations where there are many others within the frame. All you have to do is touch the object you want to track on the camera display.
• Smooth 4K content delivery at 30 frames per second. The camera can record 4K/30P 4:2:2 10bit video on an internal SD memory card. In addition, it is also possible to record video using Apple ProRes codecs** when an external SSD is connected via a USB-C cable.***
• The GFX100S II also features a “flat” “F-Log2” profile with a wide dynamic range of over 13 EV****, providing increased flexibility in post-production. In addition, the camera also has the ability to record and save video materials in many formats on a variety of external media by transmitting the signal via HDMI. For example, you can record footage in the “F-log2” profile on a storage medium and at the same time get a preview of the recorded video with the video simulation applied on an external monitor.
• The camera offers support for the Frame.io Camera to Cloud network service. It allows you to upload photos and recorded videos directly to the Frame.io service, which significantly speeds up the film or photographic workflow, from registration to editing.
