ELED Edge Illumination
ELED (Edge LED) is a technology of illuminating the matrix with LEDs on its edges (alternative to DLED backlighting - direct under the matrix). Thanks to this technology, monitors consume much less electricity during their operation, which is strategically important for DigitalSignage screens, working even several dozen hours a day. From a visual point of view, ELED backlit screens may have a thinner housing (thickness) because they are devoid of unnecessary backlight layer.
