The SIGNAL T2-BOX meets the requirements of the Regulation of the Minister of Digital Affairs of 7.10.2019 on the requirements for DVB-T2 HEVC digital receivers.

The SIGNAL T2-MINI tuner is designed for TVs hung on wall mounts, where there is no additional 230V socket and shelf to place a BOX tuner.

Signal T2-MINI dedicated to those who want to hide the purchased receiver behind the TV. The receiver, as one of the few of this type on the market, has an infrared sensor along with an LED indicating the status of the receiver on the attached cable, so you can control the tuner which is invisible.

The Signal T2-MINI receiver receives free channels broadcast on digital terrestrial television DVB-T2 in the image encoding technology HEVC (H.265/MPEG-H) and H.264/MPEG-4 with sound Dolby E-AC-3. This tuner is one of the cheapest solutions allowing users of older TVs equipped with DVB-T MPEG-4/H.264 digital terrestrial TV head for DVB-T2 HEVC (H.265/MPEG-H) reception.

Licensed techniques used in the tuner:

The receiver is fully compatible with DVB-T and DVB-T2 digital signals with parameters compliant with PN-ETSI EN 300 744 and PN-ETSI EN 302 755. Signal T2-MINI A99313 enables reception of FTA (Free-To-Air) channels in standard SD resolution and high HD (High Definition) compressed in H.265/HEVC, MPEG-4, AVC/H.264, MPEG-2 standard. It has a functional and transparent program guide (EPG - Electronic Program Guide) containing detailed data on the program offer for a given day and week (depending on the level of this service from the sender's side). Navigating the receiver menu should not be a problem even for people who do not have experience in using this type of devices.

The biggest advantage of the Signal T2-MINI receiver is its compact dimensions and power supply from the USB port of the TV or any external USB power supply. The device plugged directly into the HDMI input of the TV remains virtually invisible to the user. The receiver is ideal for TVs hanging on walls and allows you to arrange the device in such a way that it fits between the TV with a wall or holder. It should only be remembered to ensure proper ventilation of the device. The tuner hidden behind the TV receives control signals from the remote control infrared sensor placed on a short cable. In order for the device to work properly, the infrared sensor must be attached to the front panel of the TV.

UNIVERSAL LEARNING PILOT

The included remote control allows you to control the receiver and TV simultaneously (after performing a simple remote control programming procedure). For the TV, it is possible to turn it on and off, adjust the volume and change the video input. This eliminates the need for two pilots.

QUICK START

The receiver is ready to use immediately after power on. The quick installation guide allows you to automatically scan the entire TV band and rank the found programs according to the pre-selected criterion. In case the user prefers to manually select the searched channel frequencies, he can skip the guide and select the correct option from the receiver menu.

HDMI CEC – TURNING TV ON AND OFF VIA HDMI CONNECTOR

HDMI-CEC integrates control systems for compatible devices connected via an HDMI cable. This allows you to operate the TV and decoder with the same remote control - even without the need to program the universal remote control. If the TV to which the receiver is connected supports HDMI-CEC, turning the receiver on/off will automatically turn the TV on/off. This is another way to avoid the need for two remote controls. HDMI-CEC can take commercial names specific to a given manufacturer of RTV equipment, e.g. Anynet+ (Samsung), Aquos Link (Sharp), BRAVIA Link/Sync (Sony), CE-Link (Toschiba), EasyLink (Philips), SimpLink (LG), VieraLink (Panasonic). In some TV models (e.g. Samsung UE46ES6800S, UE32H5500) is the ability to control the SIGNAL tuner with the TV remote control (turn on, change channels, set the volume, call the tuner menu).

HOTEL MODE

Hotel mode is practically unheard of in DVB-T2 receivers function that allows you to block the possibility of changing any parameters in the receiver menu. After activating it, the user can only browse the list of channels, change the program, change the soundtrack and adjust the volume. All other functions remain blocked and their change requires a predefined password. This feature is extremely useful in hotels, hospitals and other facilities where many people can use the receiver.

EXPORT LIST OF PROGRAMS TO USB MEMORY

Signal receivers are equipped with a unique functionality for this type of equipment that allows you to export and import the list of channels from a USB stick. This trivially simple and quick to implement function will be useful wherever a larger number of receivers are used, on which the same - different than the default order of programs is to be maintained. In particular, this function will be useful in hotels. This function combined with the hotel mode function will guarantee the presence of an information hotel program always in 1 position on the list of channels.

MEDIA PLAYER

The receiver also allows you to play media such as videos in various video formats, music or photos. Multimedia can be played from an external USB drive. Depending on the type of media selected in the menu, the tuner will display only those of interest to the user.

PVR

It is also possible to record broadcasts and terrestrial television programs "on the fly" or to schedule recording with EPG with the possibility of later playback. Files are stored on an external storage medium. With the scheduled recording, the receiver will turn on automatically to record the selected broadcast. Recorded files can be played back using the built-in player or e.g. on a PC.

SAFE OPERATION

Signal T2-MINI has a compact housing. This housing and thoughtfully designed integrated circuit mean that Signal T2-MINI does not reach temperatures that may pose a threat to its correct operation. This receiver performs perfectly in combination with other - structurally similar solutions. By testing, it was shown that Signal T2-MINI (picture on the right) heats up by about 10-15°C less than competing solutions (picture on the left). The tests were carried out with Hikvision DS-2TP23-10VM/W thermal imaging camera.

HIGH SENSITIVITY

The tests showed that Signal receivers have a sensitive head and are able to receive even very weak signals. The declared sensitivity of 30 dBμV was confirmed in the test from the Kraków - Chorągwica transmitter. The receivers were able to correctly receive the signal on channel 22 with a power of 30,4 dBμV, MER 18,5 dB and BER 5x10^-3. Naturally, such signal parameters are not a guarantee of correct reception in every location and throughout the lifetime of the receiver.

Programming the pilot

• Place the remote control from the decoder and the remote control from the TV opposite each other at a distance of 3 - 5 cm.
• Hold the SET button on the decoder remote for about 3 seconds. The TV Power LED on the remote will start to glow more intensely red.
• Press and release the learning button of the remote you want to program.
• Press the original remote control button.
• The SIGNAL decoder remote will confirm the signal is saved by blinking the TV diode: one long and then two quick blinks. Then the TV light will start to shine continuously.
• Repeat these steps for the other buttons you want to program.
• When finished, press the SET button.

Support TV with tuner remote control.

The tuner remote has 5 programmable buttons: on/off, change the signal source, volume. After programming the tuner remote with the TV remote, there is no need to use the original TV remote. This is possible provided that the TV is controlled in infrared and not bluetooth.

The SIGNAL T2-MINI tuner supports HDMI CEC. A prerequisite for using this function is that the tuner is powered from the AC 230V network (A9940 power supply) and not from the USB TV. If the TV also supports HDMI CEC (and this feature is enabled), the TV turns on/off by turning the tuner on/off. HDMI-CEC can take on trade names specific to a given manufacturer of RTV equipment, e.g. Anynet+ (Samsung), Aquos Link (Sharp), BRAVIA Link/Sync (Sony), CE-Link (Toschiba), EasyLink (Philips), SimpLink (LG), VieraLink (Panasonic).

Installation of Signal T2-MINI receivers will not cause significant changes in the way the TV is operated in the hotel room. Thoughtful design and software do not generate problems characteristic of the use of typical DVB-T2 receivers, which effectively discouraged hotel owners from using this solution.

Problem 1: By using an additional device, the owner of the object exposes himself to losses related to its theft or destruction.

Signal T2-MINI should be hidden behind the TV making it invisible to hotel guests. On the front of the TV there is only a small infrared detector that allows you to control the receiver using the remote control.

Problem 2: the need to use two remote controls (for the TV and receiver) can be troublesome for both guests and hotel owners (losing remote controls, etc. ).

The remote control included with the Signal T2-MINI allows you to control the receiver and TV simultaneously (after a simple remote control programming procedure). For the TV, it is possible to turn it on and off, adjust the volume and change the video input. This eliminates the need for two remote controls. If the tuner remote is lost, you can buy the remote itself.

Problem 3: an additional device requires the use of an additional power supply, which in turn entails the need to occupy another mains socket. In the absence of it, it is necessary to replace the socket with a double or use a splitter.

Signal T2-MINI is powered by 5 V from the USB port of the TV. In this case, turning on the TV also turns on the receiver. This allows the receiver and the wiring connected to it to be hidden behind the TV. When the TV is turned off, the tuner does not draw any electricity.

Problem 4: Customers reprogram TVs.

Signal T2-MINI has a hotel mode function. After activating it, the user can only view the list of channels, change the program, change the soundtrack and adjust the volume. All other functions remain blocked and their change requires a predefined password. The customer with the tuner remote control will not program either the TV or the tuner.

Problem 5: If the broadcasting parameters are changed and subsequent channels are added, it is necessary to program each tuner separately.

Signal T2-MINI has the function of exporting and uploading from a USB stick a list of channels and tuner settings. It is enough to program one tuner, arrange a list of channels according to your requirements, make a copy of the data and upload to each subsequent tuner in a few seconds.

Problem 6: The list of programs is arranged by LCN default of the signal sender. The hotel cares about its own selection and order of channels.

The Signal T2-MINI software allows you to change the order and numbers of programs. So you can give your own hotel channel in the first place with the number 1.
