Purpose and application

The StarTech DK31C3HDPDUE docking station is a wired solution designed to extend your laptop's capabilities and power your workstation. It allows simultaneous connection of monitors, USB devices and a wired network, while providing power via USB Power Delivery up to 85 W. The product is designed to work with computers equipped with USB-C ports and with limited functionality with USB-A interface.

Video outputs and multi-monitoring

The station supports DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.0 video outputs, allowing multi-monitor configurations of up to three screens in 4K resolution at 60 Hz using a combination of DisplayPort and/or HDMI ports and working with a DisplayPort 1.4-enabled USB-C host port. For computers that use a USB-A port, multi-monitoring may be limited by the capabilities of the older interface and typically allows you to work with two displays.

Ports, data and audio transfer

The station offers an extensive USB hub with six downstream ports: USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 (10 Gbit/s), USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 (10 Gbit/s), USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 (5 Gbit/s) and three USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 (5 Gbit/s) ports. The presence of high-speed bus ports makes it easy to connect external drives and other peripherals. The integrated TRRS combination jack supports a headset with a microphone, allowing you to use your audio headsets without additional adapters.

Network and Security

The station has a gigabit Ethernet port (10/100/1000 Mbit/s) with support for network boot function (PXE start-up) and network wake-up function (Wake-on-LAN), which supports system installation and remote management. Physical security components include a Kensington socket and a screw host cable lock, enhancing device security in an office environment. The device can be mounted on the wall, monitor or bottom of the desk, giving you the flexibility to arrange your workstation.

The station provides USB Power Delivery up to 85 W, and front ports with BC 1.2 support and constant power function are used to charge mobile devices.
