The GÖTZE & JENSEN AOJ-20A non-contact thermometer measures body temperature in the range of from 32.0°C to 42.9°C with an accuracy of ±0.2°C. Just point the device at the forehead from a distance of a few centimeters and press the button to see the result on the backlit LED display after a few seconds. You don’t have to wake up a sleeping toddler or ask a restless preschooler to hold a thermometer under his arm.

Two modes of measurement

The body measurement mode operates in the range of from 32°C to 42.9°C with an accuracy of ±0.2°C, which is enough to accurately detect fever. After removing the cover, the device switches to direct mode (measured in the ear) with a range of from 0°C to 100°C and an accuracy of ±1.0°C, which will work if you prefer a more traditional way of measuring. When the temperature exceeds the norm in body measurement mode, the thermometer emits an audible signal, which immediately informs you about a potential fever.

Convenient display

The Backlit LED display is easy to read even in complete darkness, eliminating the need to turn on the night light and risk the sick family member waking up. Battery discharge indicator informs in advance when it is worth replacing 2 AAA 1.5 V batteries, so as not to be without a thermometer at a critical moment. Automatic shutdown after 13 seconds saves energy, so that one set of batteries is enough for up to 3000 measurements.

Hygiene without effort

Non-contact measurement reduces the risk of transmission of bacteria and viruses between family members, which is crucial during an influenza or cold epidemic. You do not have to wash the thermometer after each use or disinfect it before the next measurement – just point it at the forehead and you are done. Non-contact measurement gives a sense of security and peace, especially when you care for an infant or a person with a weakened immune system.

Mode for children and adults

The thermometer distinguishes between measurement modes for children and adults, which increases the precision of reading depending on the age of the subject. The algorithm takes into account the differences in the surface temperature of the skin between a toddler with delicate skin and an adult with thicker epidermis. Just switch the mode before measuring to get a result adapted to the physiology of the person. This avoids misreadings and false positives that could unnecessarily disturb or delay the response to an actual fever. The thermometer becomes more reliable than universal devices without this function.
