After four years of research and testing, engineers at Focal designed a magnesium dome for Clear Mg transducers.
This new alloy combined with the M-shaped dome made it possible to achieve even greater lightness, rigidity and better damping - three success factors of the speaker driver. The sound reproduction is efficient, precise, and impressive, providing a strikingly realistic sound. Combined with a DAC/Amplifier, Clear Mg headphones deliver impressive performance. With 55Ω impedance, they can also be easily used with portable audio players.
The St. Étienne brand first debuted on the global Hi-Fi headphone market in 2016. The combination of the unique savoir-faire with production carried out in its own workshops in France resulted in the recognition of the Focal brand by the French state as a living cultural heritage (Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant).
