PRAKTIK CHARGER 4 is an electronic rectifier for charging 6 and 12 volt acid batteries:

• WET (liquid - acidic)
• GEL (gel)
• MF (maintenance-free)
• AGM (with fiberglass mat)
• EFB (for vehicles with Start-Stop system)

The rectifier has a microprocessor control system, provides automatic shutdown when the required voltage is reached on the battery and automatic resumption of charging after the voltage drops on the battery.

The set includes:

• Starter cables with a length of 110 cm.

• REGENERATION – impulse regeneration process of sulphurized batteries allows to remove sulphates from lead plates and results in recovery of battery capacity
• WINTER MODE – cold battery charging function: optimizes charging at very low temperatures (low temperatures can adversely affect the chemical structure of battery components)
• FAST AND SLOW CHARGING MODE (4A/1A for 12V and 4A for 6V)

The device is equipped with protection against short-circuit poles, overload and reverse polarity.

Single-phase power supply 230V. The device is equipped with a power plug.

The 9-step charging process ensures optimal charging conditions for the battery. The automatic control system will adjust each of the 9 charging stages to the correct charging of the battery:

• STEP 1 - DIAGNOSTIC (Diagnostics) – analyzes the battery and checks whether it can accept charging current; prevents charging the damaged battery.
• STEP 2 - RECOVERY CHARGE (Pre-charging) – low voltage batteries are pre-charged with low current but with increased voltage; highly discharged batteries can be restored to their useful state and this ensures a longer battery life, the stage is skipped if the battery is minimally discharged and in good condition.
• STEP 3 - SOFT START - the rectifier gradually increases the charging current to reach the set charging current.
• STEP 4 - PULSE CHARGE (Pulse charging) – the battery is charged with pulsed current (pulse fluctuations take place in the DC current range).
• STEP 5 - RECONDITIONING – preparation stage for bulk charge.
• STEP 6 - BULK CHARGE – charging with a constant current value to the previously set voltage (14.4÷14.7V).
• STEP 7 - ABSORPTION CHARGE – after reaching the required battery charge level, the change to constant voltage (CV) charging will take place and the charging process will be completed.
• STEP 8 - EVALUATION DIAGNOSTIC – automatic monitoring of battery voltage after charging.
• STEP 9 - MAINTENANCE CHARGE – stage supporting the battery (float) and monitoring its condition; resumes charging with reduced current if necessary.

Depending on the choice of the function LCD display indicates the operating status of the rectifier:

Charging in 12V free mode: 2A / 14.4V

Charging in 12V fast mode: 8A / 14.4V

Charging in winter mode: 8A / 14.7V

Recommended for charging batteries at temp. below 5°C.

Charging in 6V mode: 2A / 7.2V
