Until recently, the market, with the exception of the server segment, was not particularly interested in the 2.5GBASE-T, 5GBASE-T and 10GBASE-T standards. This was due to the fact that Gigabit Ethernet was enough for most home and office applications, and network cards compliant with the new standards were simply very expensive. Their price often exceeded 1000 PLN.

The approach of users began to change when the Wi-Fi 6 standard (IEEE 802.11ax) appeared on the market. This wireless standard allows transmission at speeds up to 9,6 Gbps (in Wi-Fi 5 it is 6,9 Gbps). Such a high transmission speed is enabled by m.in. Simultaneous streaming of several movies or videos (e.g. from CCTV camera) in 4K and even 8K resolution. This data must be received or sent somehow to or from the access point. Gigabit networking is too slow and becomes a bottleneck compared to wireless networking.

Because fiber optic solutions are too expensive, users have taken an interest in the 2.5GBASE-T standards, which uses Lan CAT 5 and 6 cables.
