Description
Pololu 2756 Dual MC33926 Motor Driver is a expansion board designed for Raspberry Pi single board computers equipped with a 40-pin GPIO connector, such as Raspberry Pi A+, B+, Pi 2 or Pi 3. The module allows you to control two-way DC brush motors using Freescale H MC33926 bridges. Control systems operate in the voltage range from 5 V to 28 V and can provide up to 3 A of continuous current per channel and up to 5 A of peak current for a short time .
The controller uses hardware PWM Raspberry Pi signals to adjust motor speed and DIR direction signals to change the direction of rotation. The default configuration uses six GPIO pins for control and two additional pins for reading the status signals of the drivers. The system supports PWM signal with a frequency of up to 20 kHz, which allows smooth and quiet motor speed adjustment.

The board uses additional logic circuits that simplify motor control in drive/brake mode, which allows for a more linear relationship between PWM signal filling and motor speed. The built-in LEDs indicate the status of the controller outputs, allowing you to quickly check the operation of the system even without connected motors.
The module has protection against reverse polarity of motor power supply, protection against too low voltage and protection against short circuit outputs . MC33926 systems also offer internal current limitation and thermal protection, which limits the output power in case of exceeding the permissible current or temperature.
The board retains a mechanical format compliant with the Raspberry Pi HAT standard, however, it does not have an EEPROM system that identifies HAT. The tile provides space for its installation, which allows you to expand the functionality in more advanced projects.
