Switching and aggregating traffic
The UniFi ECS-Aggregation switch is a device designed for traffic aggregation and extensive network installations in enterprise and campus environments. The device offers high-bandwidth ports in SFP28 and QSFP28 formats, enabling the construction of 25 Gbps and 100 Gbps links and integration with the network backbone layer.
Ports and connectivity
The device has 48 SFP28 ports (25 Gbps each) and 6 QSFP28 ports (100 Gbps each), which allows for flexible connection of servers, aggregation switches and storage devices. The switch supports Jumbo Frames and Link Aggregation (LAG) mechanisms, making it easier to increase bandwidth and redundancy of connections.
Efficiency and traffic processing
Routing and switching bandwidth is up to 3600 Gbit/s, and the switching capacity reported in the documentation is 1800 Gbit/s with a maximum forwarding rate of about 2300 Mpps. With this performance, the device is designed for high-traffic environments that require L2/L3 operations.
Management functions and network security
The switch works as a managed device with support for L2 and L3 layers and typical network protocols (m.in. IPv4, ARP, DHCP, IGMP, STP, RSTP). In terms of security, MAC address filtering, IGMP snooping, loop protection, port isolation, port mirroring and extensive DHCP functions are available: DHCP guarding, DHCP relay and DHCP snooping. Flow control support makes it easier to manage link overloads.
Design, power supply and operating conditions
The unit has a 19" cabinet mount design with a height of 1U, in a gray housing and with status signal diodes. The dimensions of the device and the weight allow for installation in a standard rack. The power supply is implemented from the AC 100-240 V 50/60 Hz network; the device uses two power units and has a maximum power consumption of about 340 W. The operating range includes temperatures from -5 to 40 °C and a relative humidity of 10-95%.
