Automatic battery rectifier WDS2230 from W.D.S. designed for charging 12V batteries of various types – automotive, AGM, motorcycle and discharged requiring regeneration. The device independently selects charging parameters based on the selected operating mode and the measured ambient temperature.

Characteristics of the device

4 charging modes

The rectifier offers separate profiles for car batteries, AGM/Start-Stop, motorcycle batteries and a mode of repair of deeply discharged cells. Each profile uses a different current-voltage characteristic adapted to the battery technology, which translates into safer and more efficient charging.

Temperature compensation

The built-in ambient temperature sensor allows the device to automatically adjust the charging voltage. Lead-acid batteries require higher voltage at low temperatures and lower voltage in the heat – the rectifier takes this parameter into account without the need for manual intervention.

LCD display

The LCD screen continuously presents the current status of the charging process. The user can track the progress of work without the need for additional meters or diagnostic devices.

Battery repair mode

Dedicated regeneration profile is designed for batteries that have been deeply discharged or show reduced capacity due to sulphation of plates. This mode uses controlled charging pulses that can restore partial cell efficiency.

How to choose the charging mode?

The type of battery is usually indicated on its label or in the vehicle documentation. AGM batteries are characterized by a sealed housing without service stoppers and often marked "AGM" or "Start-Stop". Standard flooded batteries (WET/SLA) are charged in car mode. In the case of motorcycle batteries, attention should be paid to their capacity – a lower charging current in this mode protects smaller cells from overload.
