PLANET FGSW-2624HPS4 is an ideal managed PoE+ switch that provides a cost-effective advantage to the local area network and is widely accepted in small and medium-sized business office networks. It offers intelligent Layer 2 data packet switching and management features, a user-friendly network interface, and stable operation. The model is IEEE 802.3at Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+) compliant at an affordable price; the FGSW-2624HPS4 is equipped with 24 10/100BASE-TX Fast Ethernet ports and 2 gigabit TP/SFP combo interfaces with internal power system. With 24 Fast Ethernet ports integrated with the 802.3at PoE+ injector function and a total power budget of up to 370W, it offers an affordable, secure and reliable rack-mountable power solution for small and medium-sized businesses deploying Power over Ethernet networks or requiring enhanced data security and network traffic management.

Intelligently check the activity of the powered device

FGSW-2624HPS4 can be configured to monitor the status of a connected PD device in real time using a ping action. When the PD device stops working and remains unanswered, the FGSW-2624HPS4 will resume powering the PoE port and bring the PD back to work. This will significantly increase network reliability by resetting the PD power source through the PoE port, thereby reducing the administrator burden of management.

PoE port sequence

To prevent all PoE ports of the FGSW-2624HPS4 switch from being active at the same time after the switch is started, the PoE ports of the FGSW-2624HPS4 switch can be configured so that each port is activated at a specified interval. In addition, the "Delay" setting delays the power supply of each port when the FGSW-2624HPS4 is fully operational.

Extending the Ethernet data transmission distance

In "Extended" mode, the FGSW-2624HPS4 operates in 10 Mbps duplex mode per port, but can support PoE output power up to a distance of 250 meters, overcoming the limit of 100 meters on an Ethernet UTP cable.

Solid Layer 2 features

The FGSW-2624HPS4 switch can be programmed for advanced management functions such as Multiple Spanning Tree Protocol (MSTP), BPDU filtering, BPDU Guard, dynamic port link aggregation, IGMP/MLD snooping, DHCP relay agent, loop detection and GVRP, voice VLAN and Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP). The included Layer 2 protocol is designed to help detect basic information about adjacent devices in your local broadcast domain. Other features include port-based/802.1Q VLAN and Q-in-Q VLAN, Layer 2/4 QoS, port mirroring, broadcast storm control and bandwidth control.

FGSW-2624HPS4 offers a comprehensive list of access control (ACL) from Layer 2 to Layer 4 to enforce security at the network edge. It can be used to restrict network access by rejecting packets based on the source and destination IP/MAC addresses or defined common network applications. FGSW-2624HPS4 also provides DHCP Snooping, ARP Inspection and MAC Verification features that prevent IP snooping attacks and reject ARP packets with an invalid MAC address. MAC/IP address binding per port and MAC address binding are also available. A network administrator can now build highly secure enterprise networks with much less time and effort than before.

For efficient management, FGSW-2624HPS4 is equipped with Web, Telnet and SNMP management interfaces. With its built-in Web-based management interface, FGSW-2624HPS4 offers easy-to-use, platform-agnostic management and configuration features. With support for the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), FGSW-2624HPS4 can be managed using any standard management software. For text management, you can access the switch through Telnet. What’s more, FGSW-2624HPS4 offers secure remote management with support for SNMPv3 connections that encrypt packet content during each session.

Flexible and extensible Uplink solution

FGSW-2624HPS4 provides 2 additional Gigabit TP/SFP combo interfaces supporting 10/100/1000BASE-T RJ45 copper for connection to network monitoring devices such as NVR, video streaming server or NAS for easy monitoring management. In turn, SFP fiber optic sockets occupied by 1000BASE-SX/LX SFP (small form-factor pluggable) fiber optic transceivers allow connection of the device to a backbone switch and a long-distance monitoring center. The distance can be increased from 550 meters to 2 km (multimode fiber) to 10/20/40/80/120 kilometers (single-mode fiber or WDM fiber). They are well suited for industrial data center and distribution applications.
