The print on the label is created on the material, thanks to the heating and sticking of the pigment, which is contained in the thermal transfer tape. Thanks to this, it is much more durable, resistant to abrasion, mechanical damage, fat flooding, or increased temperature or moisture.
The labels fit most printers from an open printing system.
