ACCUSTOMING THE DOG TO MUZZLE

• The introduction of muzzle for the dog should be carried out gradually, with patience and a positive approach. Do not expect the dog to immediately accept a new item, so it is worth planning the process of getting acquainted for a few weeks.
• At first, place the treat on your hand and let the dog reach for it through a muzzle to tie it to something pleasant. Repeat this until the dog feels comfortable enough to allow the muzzle straps to be fastened. The next step is to put on a muzzle for a short time, gradually extending the wearing period. Remember not to overtire the dog – wearing a muzzle too long at first can make the dog resistant to this element. The whole process should take place in a calm atmosphere, so that the dog gradually gets used to the muzzle and associates it with positive experiences.

• Size 5: Front width 5.0CM, front height 7.5CM, bottom length 12CM, rear height 11CM, suitable for pets with a neck circumference of 47CM or less.

To choose the right muzzle, make the following measurements with a soft sewing centimeter when the dog stands still:

• The length of the muzzle – measure from the tip of the nose to the point between the eyes (to the base of the muzzle).
• The circumference of the muzzle – measure around the muzzle at its widest point, approx. 1,5 cm below the eyes (depending on the breed of dog).

For your dog's comfort, add 1 to 2 cm of slack to this dimension.

• Neck circumference (behind the ears) – measure the circumference just behind the ears, where the muzzle strap will lie.
• Pony height (optional) – measure from the lower part of the jaw to the base of the muzzle (top of the nose), if the manufacturer requires it.

Tip: The dog should be able to open his mouth and yawn freely – do not choose a muzzle “at the contact”.

Also remember that the muzzle should not be too loose, it can lead to its falling, which will reduce or limit the effectiveness of using the muzzle!
