Superlux S502MKII is a condenser microphone system in ORTF configuration, designed for professional stereo recordings. ORTF chip – proven stereo recording method

Two 1/2" diameter capacitive capsules have been arranged according to the ORTF standard: at a distance of 17 cm from each other and at an angle of 110°. This configuration mimics the natural arrangement of human ears, which translates into a very realistic and spatial reproduction of the sound stage. The cardioid characteristics of each capsule effectively reduce the collection of sounds from the sides and back, which minimizes the impact of unwanted reflections and ambient noise.

Wide frequency response and high dynamics

The frequency response ranges from 40 to 20 000 Hz, allowing you to faithfully capture both low tones and delicate details at higher frequencies. With a dynamic range of 117 dB and a maximum sound pressure level of 134 dB, the microphone can handle both quiet, subtle sound sources and loud instruments without the risk of overdrive. The signal-to-noise ratio of 79 dB guarantees clean, almost noise-free recording.

Practical technical solutions
