Gigabit Performance

Gigabit managed switches from the DGS-1210/ME series are available with a variety of port configurations, including Gigabit Ethernet RJ-45 and SFP ports.

Performance and Reliability

The DGS-1210ME series switches are designed for mission-critical environments, offering support for IEEE 802.1D, 802.1w and 802.1s Spanning Tree protocols. IEEE 802.3ad (link aggregation) support increases bandwidth and provides redundancy, resulting in higher network availability.

This series also offers IEEE 802.1p compliant quality of service (QoS), enabling real-time traffic classification using the Weighted Round Robin (WRR) algorithm and strict priority mode, distributing traffic up to 8 queues. Advanced traffic classification mechanisms allow for flexible network adaptation to specific multimedia applications, such as VoIP or IPTV.

Multicast applications

The DGS-1210ME series offers a full suite of Layer 2 multicast features, including IGMP snooping, IGMP filtering, Fast Leave, and the ability to assign multicast traffic to specific ports. With support for multicast at the L2 level, these switches are perfect for growing IPTV deployments.

Movement and Throughput Control

The integrated bandwidth control feature allows administrators to precisely define bandwidth limits for inbound and outbound traffic. The minimum configuration unit is 64 kbps for both the input band (port and flow) and the output band (queue). The DGS-1210ME series switches also support traffic control to optimize network performance, and the port mirroring feature allows you to monitor traffic and analyze network performance.

The intuitive web interface provides administrators with access to advanced management features, such as automatic DHCP configuration, to centrally manage device settings. Switches support the Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP), which provides information about the capabilities and identity of the device on the local network, making it easier to manage the network topology. Each port also supports wiring diagnostics, allowing you to remotely detect cable length and cable issues.

Security and authentication

The DGS-1210ME series supports IEEE 802.1X port- and host-based access control, guest VLANs, and RADIUS/TACACS+ authentication, providing tight network access control. IP-MAC-Port Binding (IMPB) enables administrators to manage user access even more accurately.

The integrated D-Link Safeguard Engine protects the switch processor from broadcast, multicast and unicast traffic overload. Additionally, the Access Control Lists (ACL) feature enhances network security and switch performance.
