The FIPS 140-2 Aegis Secure Key validation covers 11 areas of its crypto security system, including physical security, cryptographic key management, and project integrity. Available in four tiers, the FIPS 140-2 Level 3 Aegis Secure Key certification covers both physical tamper-proof features and identity-based authentication.

Uses AES 256-bit XTS hardware encryption in military standard

All data on Aegis Secure Key is encrypted on the fly using the built-in hardware AES 256-bit XTS encryption.

Built-in alphanumeric keyboard – prevents hardware and software from recording keystrokes

By using a rechargeable battery, Aegis Secure Key allows the user to unlock the drive with a 7-16-digit PIN before connecting to a USB port on a computer, tablet or mobile device. The built-in keyboard prevents hardware and software from attempting to record keystrokes to capture the entered password through the main system.

Project without software – Without the need for administrator rights, Aegis Secure Key is easy to implement

Independent user and administrator PINs

Aegis Secure Key can be configured with independent user and administrator PINs, making it ideal for enterprise and government deployments. If the user forgets their PIN, the drive can be unlocked using the administrator's PIN, which can then delete the user's forgotten PIN and allow the user to set a new PIN.

Disk reset function

Aegis Secure Key also includes a disk reset feature that resets both user and administrator PINs, destroys data, generates a new randomly generated encryption key, and allows disk reuse. Aegis Secure Key is able to generate an infinite number of randomly generated encryption keys, allowing the user to reset the drive as often as necessary.

Dust and water resistant durable aluminium housing - IP58 certified (in progress)

Data protection goes far beyond encryption. Rugged enough to go anywhere, the impact-resistant design of the Aegis Secure Key 3.0 makes it ideal for travel and off-road applications. With its robust, crush-resistant aluminum housing, the Aegis Secure Key 3.0 is tamper-proof and well protected against physical damage.

IP (Ingress Protection) rating is an international standard that tests electrical products for two main environmental factors: liquids and dust. The tests are carried out independently by a third party and include two separate tests. For certification, Aegis Secure Key was subjected to an 8-hour dust chamber test and sunk in a water reservoir at a depth of 1 meter for 30 minutes, after which Secure Key was tested for functionality and checked for water and dust in its electronics.

Sealed against physical attacks by a durable epoxy coating

The internal components of the disk are completely protected by a super-durable epoxy compound, which makes it virtually impossible to remove them without causing permanent damage to the electronics. This barrier prevents a potential hacker from accessing the encryption chip and launching various potential attacks.

Automatic destruction function in case of brute force attacks

Because Aegis Secure Key is unlocked with its own keyboard rather than the keyboard, it is not susceptible to software/hardware keystroke recorders or brute force attacks. In addition, Aegis Secure Key further protects your data with a programmable brute force defense mechanism that destroys the encryption key and deletes all stored data if an incorrect PIN is entered for a total of 20 consecutive attempts.

Auto-lock function in absence mode

Aegis Secure Key automatically locks when you disconnect the drive from your computer's USB port or the USB port power is turned off or after a pre-programmed period of inactivity

Wear-resistant keyboard

Designed with protection in mind, the entire Aegis Secure Drive family features wear-resistant keyboards to hide key usage and avoid drawing the attention of a potential hacker to frequently used keys.

Lock override mode

Designed for specific cases where the key needs to remain unlocked when re-enumerating the USB port, such as when restarting or passing through a VM.
