The CHARGE 400 smart microprocessor rectifier is designed to charge all types of lead-acid batteries (WET/MF/CA/EFB/GEL/AGM). The charging time of the battery depends on its rated capacity and the degree of discharge.
It has protections: against sparking, reverse polarity, short circuit, overheating and overcharging.
Charging process (8-stage):
- DIAGNOSIS: analysis of the battery, its state of charge and correctness of connections between the battery and rectifier
- SULPHURIZATION: recognition of the sulphurized battery, charging with low voltage and high intensity pulsating current allows the removal of sulphate from the battery plates, so that its initial capacity is restored
- ANALYSIS: checking whether the battery is not damaged and whether it can accept charging current – prevents charging the damaged battery;
- SOFT START: if the battery is not damaged, a relatively low current charge begins (about 15%), gradually increasing its value
- PRINCIPAL CHARGING: constant current maximum charging with a value automatically adjustable depending on the state of charge of the battery, until 80% of the battery capacity is reached
- FINAL CHARGING: charging with decreasing current and constant voltage to reach 100% battery capacity
- PULSE CHARGING: charging via small pulses of charging current
- MAINTENANCE: monitoring the battery voltage and maintaining an optimal charge of 95-100% of the capacity through charging current pulses if the specified value is recognized
