Satechi Mac Mini M6/M5 Pro/M4 Stand & Hub with SSD Enclosure in Silver is an aluminum stand with USB-C hub and SSD enclosure. It is compatible with Mac mini M6, M5 Pro, M4, and M4 Pro computers. It provides three USB-A ports, a UHS-II SD card reader, and up to 4 TB of M.2 NVMe storage.

Compatible with Mac mini computers

The current Satechi product sheet lists the following models:

M.2 NVMe SSD Enclosure

The built-in enclosure supports M.2 NVMe PCIe SSDs and data transfer up to 10 Gbps. Disk space is located at the bottom of the stand.

• Supported SSD formats: 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280.
• Maximum supported capacity: 4 TB.
• Disk interface: M.2 NVMe PCIe.
• Transfer speed through the enclosure: up to 10 Gbps.

The enclosure does not support M.2 SATA drives, double-sided drives or models with a heat sink mounted. The SSD is not included.

Two USB-A ports with up to 10 Gbps transfer

The two front USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 connectors allow you to connect devices and transfer data at speeds up to 10 Gbps.

USB ports are used for data transmission, synchronization and operation of peripheral devices. They are not designed to charge and do not support CD readers, including Apple SuperDrive.

USB-A 2.0 for keyboard, mouse and receivers

The third USB-A port works in the USB 2.0 standard and supports transfer up to 480 Mb/s. The manufacturer recommends connecting keyboards, mice and peripheral devices with low data transmission requirements to it.

SD card reader UHS-II

The built-in SD 4.0 supports UHS-II standard and data transfer rates of up to 312 MB/s. The card should be placed with the label facing up and the contacts facing down.

Aluminum construction and heat dissipation

The stand has an aluminum housing, lower vents and a recessed top surface to support airflow. The design also includes a cable routing system.

The included thermal conductive pad helps dissipate heat from the SSD during data transfer.

Access to the Mac mini power button

A special notch provides finger access to the computer's power button. It allows you to turn your Mac mini on and off without lifting or moving it on the stand.

Disk mounting and stand connection

To mount the SSD, remove the bottom cover, prepare the thermal pad, slide the drive into the connector and secure it with the included screw. Then the cover must be reinstalled.

The stand is placed under the computer and connected with an integrated USB-C cable. The new drive requires formatting according to the computer's operating system.

Connecting devices and disconnecting disk

When using SSDs, the manufacturer recommends connecting up to one additional device with high power consumption or an external data carrier. Before disconnecting the USB-C cable, eject the SSD in the system.
