Shell Rimula R6 LME Plus oil is characterized by a low content of sulphate ash, phosphorus and sulphur (SAPS). The level of protection it provides increases thanks to the use of synthetic technology, which provides better engine protection2, longer oil life and greater fuel efficiency. It can be used in vehicles compliant with Euro 4, 5 and 6 standards.

EXCELLENT WEAR PROTECTION

Protection against engine wear is made possible by the use of anti-wear additives, whose task is to create a protective film on the contact surfaces of metals, when the situation and conditions in which the engine operates require it. The Shell Rimula R6 LME Plus also uses additives acting as soot dispersants, whose task is to accurately disperse particles so as to prevent wear caused by soot.

Excessive wear of cam humps and pushers in the engine can lead to loss of power and increased emissions. Shell Rimula R6 LME Plus helps prevent wear and tear on the most important engine components.

The Mercedes-Benz OM 646 LA engine test, which used Shell R6 LME Plus oils, reported 86% lower wear on the inlet camshaft and 73% better wear protection on the exhaust camshaft compared to the new, more stringent MB 228.51 limits.

BETTER PROTECTION FOR ENGINES EQUIPPED WITH EGR

Exhaust gas recirculation system (EGR) Exhaust Gas Recirculation) introduces a certain amount of exhaust gases into the air intake system to reduce the peak combustion temperature, which in turn reduces nitric oxide emissions. Exhaust gases contain acids and soot particles that can adversely affect oil performance, causing corrosion and wear caused by soot. EGR also raises the temperature of the oil, which puts it under greater loads.

Shell Rimula R6 LME Plus with Dynamic Protection Plus technology demonstrates exceptional performance during tests of EGR-equipped engines that have been introduced to the specifications for the CJ-4 API group, i.e. Mack T-12 (lead corrosion and wear of piston rings and cylinder sleeves) and Cummins ISB (valve timing wear in large amounts of soot).
