The new product has been developed to meet industry-leading standards and complies with the manual specifications of many Stellantis passenger cars, SUVs, pick-ups and hybrids, providing uninterrupted protection from the moment the engine is started. Castrol MAGNATEC 5W-30 P is designed for engines such as EB2 GEN 2 and is compatible with EB2 Turbo GEN 1 and GEN 2, DV5R and DW12RU. It also meets the requirements of PSA B71 2290 and is also approved for use in climates with high temperatures where PSA B71 2297 is required.

Taking into account Stellantis’ vehicle range, MAGNATEC 5W-30 P can be used in 83% of Citroën, 78% of Peugeot and 44% of DS Automobiles* vehicles. The new product is also compatible with Opel/Vauxhall, Fiat, Toyota and Mitsubishi vehicles.

Analyses of Castrol indicate that in 75% engine wear occurs at the beginning of driving, and further wear occurs when cars accelerate, slow down and idle while driving around the city. Castrol MAGNATEC provides an advanced solution, offering 50% better engine protection against wear** of critical components. It adheres like a magnet to the most important components of the engine – such as the timing system, timing chain, pistons and bearings – protecting them from damage and wear.

The advanced formula creates a protective barrier at metal contact points, reducing abrasive wear, reducing deposits on the piston to minimize wear on the cylinder sleeve and protecting the engine bearings from corrosion damage. Additionally, it maintains the tension of the timing chain and ensures smooth engine operation, minimizing damage and stretching of the chain.
