Would you entrust the safety of your equipment with a solution for several dozen zlotys? We not, so we focused on quality and made our electronics from scratch. Our work, in relation to a cheap insulator, resulted in:

• USB isolation: 3500 V vs 2500 V
• Mass insulation capacity: 9 pF vs 26 pF
• Transmission speed: 480 Mbps vs 1.5-12 Mbps
• Stabilized voltage: 5.05 and 4.95 V vs 5.5 - 4.8 V
• Power pulses: 4 mV PK-PK vs 50-100 mV PK-PK
• Presence: 6 filter and protection systems vs. only two ESD filters

Remember that not only the project was created in Poland, but here also takes place:

• PCB assembly,
• mechanical assembly,
• all three test steps: Hi-Pot test, High Speed transmission, 500 mA load and >600 mA short circuit

So we can definitely write: made in Poland!

Inside our isolator, you'll find two main components:

• Digital USB 2.0 isolator chip: ADUM3165 - not to be confused with the 3160 series, which only supports Full Speed 12 Mbps and isn't enough for audio devices!
• Isolated switching power converter with linear stabilization to 5.0 V output and LC filters.

That's why our solution can be called comprehensive – we don't just split the ground, but isolate every USB signal wire (VBUS, D+, D-, GND).

Please note, other USB isolators or similar solutions might:

• support only max. USB Full Speed, which isn't enough for connecting e.g. 24-bit / 192 kHz DACs or other high-speed devices – ours supports High Speed,
• not stabilize the power output, causing voltage to fluctuate from 5.5 V to 4.7 V depending on the load,
• not actively limit the output current, potentially exceeding the permissible limits of a USB 3.0 port (900 mA) temporarily or permanently,
• not isolate USB transmission or power – with our product, every USB line is actively isolated, unlike some ground loop isolators,
• not be tested for high voltage (Hi-Pot test) or short circuits – but we test every single unit!

USB insulator is a solution known to hobbyists and electronics professionals when building new devices. We as the only implement overcurrent protection in a manner characteristic for laboratory power supplies: by actively limiting the output voltage (CC mode - constant current), in order to prevent overload for a moment.

isoUSB+ provides significant performance for its isolated output and limits it to 600 mA, allowing you to keep the input current below the performance of USB 3.0 (900 mA) ports. Remember that the insulator should be connected to the Super Speed (SS) port, usually marked with blue!

We have also not forgotten about safety and electromagnetic compatibility. The circuit contains a total of 7 elements such as ESD and TVS diodes, common-mode filter and passive PI filters, as well as a system limiting the current at the output in the event of overload.

isoUSB+ was created to solve the cause of the problem, without compromising security. Eliminates noise, squeaks or tones caused by the mass loop in digital audio devices and precision measuring equipment. Our customers have solved their problems with m.in interfaces. Focusrite, Behringer and iFi.

Because it supports High Speed, which is necessary for e.g. 24-bit/192kHz DAC, and provides 500mA output, solving the mass loop problem is as simple as plugging it in. Without additional power supply and with the best mass insulation - only 9 pF / 200 GΩ!

The insulator is sold with the included high-quality LINDY 0.5 m cable, which must be used to connect the insulator to the computer.
