Kingston IronKey Vault Privacy 50 is a top-of-the-line USB, Type-A and Type-C1 memory that provides business-class security with FIPS 197-certified AES 256-bit hardware encryption in XTS mode and includes BadUSB protection with digitally signed firmware and brute force password cracking attacks. Because it is encrypted under the physical control of the user, the VP50 series has an advantage over using the Internet and cloud services to protect data.

Vault Privacy 50 supports the option of multiple passwords (administrator, user, and one-time recovery) in complex password or password expression mode. This increases the chances of regaining access to data if you forget one of your passwords. Traditional compound password mode allows you to enter a password consisting of 616 characters using 3 of 4 character types. The new password expression mode allows you to enter a PIN number, sentence, word list, or even song text that is 10 to 64 characters long. The administrator can activate the user and a one-time recovery password or reset the user's password to restore access to the data. To make it easier to enter your password, you can enable the eye symbol so that the password becomes visible, which reduces the risk of typos resulting in failed login attempts. When ten invalid passwords are entered in a row, brute force protection blocks user passwords or one-time recovery passwords, and if an invalid administrator password is entered ten times in a row, it cryptographically cleans the disk.

In order to protect against malware infection when working on untrusted systems, the administrator and user can set a read-only mode to protect the drive from writes, and the built-in virtual keyboard protects passwords from keylogger or screenlogger software.

The memory is FIPS 197 certified and complies with the Trade Agreements Act (TAA),and organizations can benefit from the Kingston personalization program,to personalize and configure the VP50 series of memory,using a product identifier (PID) to integrate with standard endpoint management software,to meet the requirements of corporate information systems and cybersecurity.

Small and medium-sized businesses can use an administrator role to manage disks locally, e.g. to configure or reset user passwords or one-time recovery passwords for employees, recover access to data on blocked drives, and comply with regulatory and regulatory requirements if an investigation is necessary.
