The miniature rabbit is a herbivore, its menu includes both young, green shoots and ligneous parts of plants.

The building block of plants is cellulose, which the animal can digest thanks to the bacterial flora of food transport and symbiosis with protozoa living in its blind intestine.

When composing our rabbit’s menu every day, we must take care of proper balancing of the rabbit’s diet, because nutritional mistakes can lead to mineral and vitamin deficiencies.

The miniature rabbit diet should be built on the basis of the highest quality products. Rabbit is an animal with a very sensitive digestive tract, and any ailments associated with it such as flatulence, diarrhea, constipation, in extreme form can even lead to death.

Products from which rabbit meals should be prepared:

• hay - is the basic and most important component of the rabbit diet, the only one to which the animal should have access without any restrictions. It can make up to 80% of the daily portion of food given to the rabbit
• vegetables - is a valuable source of vitamins and minerals, however, due to the high energy value and softness of the vegetable should not constitute more than 10% of the daily portion of food. Dosage:

Dr Rodents VetDiet miniature rabbit pellet food is an important source of crude protein, crude oils and fats, crude fiber and crude ash. Food in the form of granules should constitute between 15% and 20% of the daily volume of food taken by the rabbit. The amount can be modified to a small extent depending on individual preferences, health status, possible health problems and age.
