True Sound idea

The Yamaha R-N800A receiver was created in accordance with the Japanese manufacturer’s original True Sound concept. Its aim is to provide a natural, realistic sound that makes the listener “closer to the artist” and feel almost like at a concert. Just close your eyes and immerse yourself in the sounds you play.

 

YPAO™ acoustic correction

The R-N800A supports YPAO™ (Yamaha Parametric Acoustic Optimizer). This is a proprietary solution from Yamaha that adjusts the settings of the sound being played to a specific listening space. Uses microphones to examine room acoustics and automatically adjust sound parameters, m.in. such as sound correction and channel balance. The goal is to achieve optimal sound quality in a given room. YPAO R.S.C. (Reflected Sound Control) controls the early reflections that are particularly important for the final sound, automatically adjusting and optimizing the way the sound propagates in the room, all taking into account the position of the speakers relative to the listening location.

 

Legendary design concept

Yamaha has over 60 years of experience as an audio brand. The technical solutions used in the R-N800A come directly from the legendary ToP-ART (Total Purity Audio Reproduction Technology) design concept. According to its assumptions, it is important to faithfully maintain the integrity of the sounds played by meticulously combining the symmetrical circuitry of the left and right channels and using the shortest possible signal paths and a low-resonance, rigid housing with a special "Art Base" frame that reduces unwanted vibrations.

 

Legs to prevent resonances

The R-N800A uses anti-vibration feet, which are designed to reduce vibrations. By placing thin curved reinforcement elements on the outer edges and thicker, straight reinforcement elements inside, the vibration energy is effectively dissipated and reduced. This design allows for a precise sound that fully captures the rhythm and dynamics.

 

Efficiency and precision of processing

One of the components used in the R-N800A is the advanced ESS Technology Sabre ES9080Q C/A converter (384 kHz / 32-bit). Thanks to it, excellent sound quality is ensured, with a high SNR (Signal to Noise Ratio). Combined with Yamaha’s original network module, the device brings out even the tiniest nuances when playing a signal from high-resolution sources. Thanks to this, even the subtle atmosphere of the concert hall is effectively reproduced.

 

Low Impedance Concept

To avoid audio signal degradation, the R-N800A receiver is equipped with robust cables for connecting ground circuits, according to the low impedance concept. In addition, a screw connection at the output of the power amplifier section was used to strengthen the grounding. This translates into the impression of closer contact with your favorite recordings.

 

Network functions

The receiver supports a variety of streaming services, such as e.g. Amazon Music and Spotify. Combined with the capabilities of a built-in digital-to-analog converter, this allows you to fully enjoy high-quality sound. The device also offers support for AirPlay 2 and the proprietary Yamaha MusicCast multiroom system. Thanks to this, we can conveniently play music anywhere in the house, connecting various devices compatible with MusicCast and controlling them with a single application installed, e.g. on a smartphone.

 

Variety of connectors

The receiver is equipped with various digital and analogue connectors. Among them we will find m.in. 2 x RCA inputs (including phono input), as well as a USB-B connector that allows you to support playback of high-definition audio content (DSD 11,2 MHz and PCM up to 384 kHz). On the rear panel of this stereo network receiver there were also optical and coaxial inputs and an output for an active subwoofer. There is a headphone output on the front.
