In addition, customers can upload floor images to the switch and this allows any surveillance equipment to be deployed for easier control and planning. What’s more, customers can get real-time surveillance status and online/offline status information, and they can also control PoE restart from the GUI.

Intelligent status checking of powered devices

The GS-5220-24UPL4XV series can be configured to monitor the status of a connected PD (powered device) in real time through a ping action. When the PD stops working and responding, the GS-5220-24UPL4XV series will resume powering the PoE port and bring the PD back to work. This will greatly increase network reliability with a PoE port that resets the PD power source and reduces the management administrator load.

Scheduled power recycling

The four 10G SFP+ ports in the GS-5220-24UPL4XV series support dual speeds of 10GBASE-SR/LR or 1000BASE-SX/LX, which means that an administrator can now flexibly select the appropriate SFP/SFP+ transceiver depending on the transmission distance or transmission speed required for efficient network expansion. They support SMB networks in achieving maximum 10Gb/s performance in a cost-effective way, as a 10GbE interface can usually be available in a Layer 3 switch, but a Layer 3 switch can be too expensive for SMB.
