The IDEAL TECNO TIG 215 AC/DC welder is a portable power source, made in IGBT technology, intended for TIG and TIG PULS welding with alternating current ( AC ), direct current ( DC ), and the MMA method with an electrode coated with direct current ( DC ).

The IDEAL TECNO TIG 215 AC/DC welder is a modern inverter device equipped with new generation IGBT transistors. Thanks to this, despite the impressive power and maximum current of 200A , the welder impresses with its compact design and low weight, which is only about 9kg. These small sizes make the welder extremely mobile and allow you to work even in hard-to-reach places.

Intuitive, easy-to-use control panel allows for quick and precise selection of individual welding parameters.

It is equipped with a display showing the values of individual parameters, which can be adjusted using the knob and function buttons.

The welder is characterized by a wide range of applications, it is dedicated to all kinds of welding works in factories, industrial plants, locksmith workshops, repair workshops, etc.

The arc is struck in non-contact ( HF ) or touch ( LIFT ) mode. The LIFT function is used during welding in an environment with a high risk of electromagnetic interference in the environment.

Both with non-contact ignition HF and touch LIFT , we can choose the function of the button in the TIG torch between working in 2-step or 4-step mode (button lock for long welds).

⭐ PULS - thanks to the adjustment of the TIG PULS pulse welding parameters, we have an impact on the shape of the weld and the focus of the arc. Pulse welding also allows you to reduce the amount of heat supplied to the material and allows you to weld thin materials.

⭐ 2T/4T - source operation control modes. In a two-stroke, pressing the TIG torch button causes welding to start, releasing the button to end welding. In a four-stroke, pressing and releasing the button start welding, to finish it, press and release the button again. Four-stroke is mainly used when making long welds, because it does not require holding the button on the handle all the time during work.

When using an ordinary gas nozzle, the shielding gas is first reflected from the inner walls of the ceramic nozzle and then unevenly distributed over the working area. Using a gas lens, the gas is distributed evenly along the tungsten electrode straight to the working area through a special mesh, providing much better coverage of the weld.

The power source was built on the basis of IGBT (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor) transistors, which ensure minimum electromagnetic interference, low power losses in the basic systems, enabling increased efficiency and reliability of the power source.

Very high efficiency, which translates directly into lower energy consumption, and high switching frequency, ensure instant adjustment of the current to changes in parameters during welding.

The fan cooling system - activated only when necessary - reduces contamination inside the device.

TECNO TIG 215 AC DC by IDEAL is a device with a wide range of applications, designed as an inverter power source enabling welding using the following method:

MMA

in the MMA method, a coated electrode is used, consisting of a metal core covered with a coating. An electric arc is generated between the end of the electrode and the material to be welded. The arc is ignited by touching the tip of the electrode to the workpiece. MMA welding is possible with both alternating and direct current.

TIG

In the TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) method, the electric arc is ignited in a shield of inert gas (argon), between the welded element and a non-consumable electrode made of pure tungsten or tungsten with additives.

Ignition of the welding arc in the TIG method is carried out by two methods :

  • touch method by touching ( TIG Lift ) the electrode to the welded material, and then lifting it to a height of a few millimeters, which initiates the welding arc
  • non-contact method ( TIG HF ) using an ionizer by bringing the electrode closer to the welded material.

Stainless steel:

This is one of the most popular uses for TIG welders. Stainless steel is relatively easy to weld using the TIG method. For stainless steel, it is generally recommended to use DC current. The current depends on the thickness of the material, but usually for thin materials (less than 1mm) about 5-50A is used, and for thick materials (over 1mm) from 50 to 200A.

Carbon and low alloy steel:

These materials can also be welded using the DC TIG method. As with stainless steel, the current depends on the thickness of the material.

Aluminum and aluminum alloys:

This is one of the applications for which AC current is used in TIG welding. AC current helps to keep the aluminum surface clean during the welding process because it has the ability to "break" the aluminum oxide layer, which is very hard and could adversely affect the quality of the weld. A current of 20-50A is usually recommended for thin materials, and 100-200A for thick materials.

Copper, bronze, nickel and their alloys:

These metals can also be welded using the TIG method. Usually it is recommended to use DC current. The current depends on the thickness of the material.

Titanium and Magnesium:

These metals are more difficult to weld, but can be welded using the TIG method. Usually DC current is used.
