Dietary supplement Spermidina Dr Ewa Dąbrowska is an organic compound (polyamine) obtained from the extract of sprouted buckwheat seeds. As a result, this supplement does not contain gluten and is safe for people with celiac disease.

Spermidine occurs naturally in all living organisms. In the human body, it can be found in some organs and male semen. Spermidine in sperm is responsible for protecting sperm DNA from the acidic environment of the vagina. Its name comes from ang. “sperm” means sperm, but also the embryo (e.g. plants).

It performs a number of functions in the body, corresponds to m.in. for proper cell formation and duplication, DNA formation and initiation of autophagy (controlled breakdown of damaged and toxic cells) – it is therefore crucial in terms of anti-aging, anti-cancer and life extension effects. The concentration of Spermidine in human blood decreases with age.

Spermidine was discovered in 1678 by the father of microbiology and the inventor of the microscope, Antoni van Leeuwenhoek. It gained popularity when scientists proved that stimulates the process of autophagy, or “natural cell recycling”, also called “the miracle of a self-healing organism”. In this process, the body’s cells break down “cellular waste”: pathogens, toxic substances as well as dead, damaged or mutated parts of cells and then convert them into energy.

Spermidine performs a number of key functions in the body - it regulates the functions of biological membranes, affects the growth and division of cells, affects the formation of proteins, lipids, DNA and RNA, and stabilizes the structure of their molecules. It stimulates not only the process of autophagy but also apoptosis, i.e. programmed (suicidal) cell death. This is an important reaction for the health of the body, as a result of which the body sends a signal to an old, worn or damaged cell (which can be potentially cancerous) that it will self-annihilate for the good of the whole organism. Spermidine is also an antioxidant that protects cells from the negative effects of free radicals. This has a beneficial effect on the functioning of the brain, and thus memory and concentration.

As a result, Spermidine may contribute to the prevention of neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s or Alzheimer’s. Spermidine can also significantly contribute to the regulation of hormonal balance in men and women. By lowering cortisol levels, it contributes to raising testosterone in men and estradiol in women, positively affecting fertility. It also reduces the titres of proinflammatory cytokines that can damage m.in. DNA or collagen structures, which is why it causes an anti-aging effect.

– including spermidine: 3 mg

Fiber from acacia: 39,5 mg
