Bodysurf is about surfing the body on the waves. It is grown in fins and using a handplane board (one handplane board is required).

A handplane (also called a bodysurf board or handboard) is a small board that is placed under the front hand of the bodysurfer, making it easier to slide and steer on the wave. Handplane is made of soft and lightweight materials to increase its buoyancy and thus reduce the weight of the bodysurfer to make it easier to catch waves. The rounded shape makes it easy to glide and allows you to steer more easily. The adjustable strap allows you to fit all hand sizes.

First, slide your hand into the handplane board strap and adjust it if necessary. The drive will be provided mainly thanks to fins. When you move in the water, you can use the handplane by making movements like a kraul, or leaning on it, with your arms outstretched in front of you.

To catch the wave vigorously wave your feet/fins towards the beach, body tense, arms extended forward, with hands resting on the handplane. When you catch a wave, point your body in the direction of the waves breaking (right or left). You can then stop both hands on the handplane or move your back hand along the body, which must remain as tight as possible.
