MIG/MAA welding

consists of welding with an electric arc produced between the hot melt electrode and the welded material. The hot melt electrode is a wire fed continuously. The arc and lake of liquid metal are protected by a stream of shielding gas.

FCAW

(Flux Cored Arc Welding) - an abbreviation for the MIG/MAG (GMAW)-like welding method, except that instead of solid wire, core wire (powder) is used. If the wire is filled with powder producing protective gases (Innershield method) during welding, the feeding of shielding gas from the outside (from the cylinder) is not required.

TIG welding (Tungsten Inert Gas)

consists in the production of an electric arc using a non-melting tungsten electrode in an inert gas shield. The designation GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) is often found (mainly in the USA).

The welding arc between the non-melting electrode and the welded material melts the surface of the material. In TIG welding it is not necessary to use additional material. Welded elements can be joined by melting the welding groove. However, if additional material is used, it is introduced into the lake manually and not with a welding torch as in the MIG/MAG method.

MMA welding

Arc welding with a wrapped electrode is the oldest and most universal method of arc welding.

In the MMA method, a wrapped electrode is used, which consists of a metal core covered with a compressed sheath. An electric arc is produced between the end of the electrode and the welded material. The arc glow is contact by touching the end of the electrode to the welded material. The electrode melts and drops of molten metal electrodes are transferred through the arc to a liquid lake of welded metal forming a weld after cooling.
