FAQ

I already have an NVR at home and I want to buy this camera. Will Google Assistant and time-lapse videos work?

No, these functions will not be available when connected to the DVR. The Reolink RLC-510A supports voice control and time-lapse recording only when it is operating as a standalone device. If you care about these options, it is best to save the material directly to the memory card.

I want to install monitoring on the facade, but I do not have an outlet there. Is there a power supply included and how do I connect it?

There is no traditional socket power supply in the package, as it is PoE equipment. This means that you transmit power and video with one internet cable directly from the switch or recorder. If you do not have a PoE infrastructure, you need to buy a standard 12V/1A power supply.

I'm going on a two-week vacation. Is a 256 GB card enough to record everything non-stop in my absence?

In continuous recording mode, a 256 GB card is enough for about 8 days of recording. To extend this time on the Reolink camera, it is worth switching it to recording mode only when motion is detected. Thanks to this, only important events will be recorded, and the memory will be enough for the entire trip without any problems.

I have a NAS from Synology. Can this model be paired with it without a dedicated manufacturer's recorder?

Yes, the camera works seamlessly with Synology Surveillance Station. However, please note that by default, RTSP ports on your device may be disabled for security reasons. Before attempting to connect, you need to activate them in advanced network settings through the application.

In the specification I can see that the operating temperature is from -10 degrees. What happens in winter when more frosts come?

The RLC-510A has a sealed IP67 housing, but the manufacturer officially guarantees stable operation up to -10°C. In practice, working components generate heat themselves, which helps to survive cooler nights, but in sulfurous frosts, the device may turn off. After warming, the equipment should spontaneously return to normal operation.

Do I have to pay a monthly subscription to the app for intelligent recognition of people and animals?

No, all advanced analytics features run locally on your device and are completely free. After purchase, you get full access to detect silhouettes, traffic zones and notifications on your phone. The Reolink system does not require any subscription to use the full capabilities of this equipment.
