An essential oil from the Labdan Cistus that occurs in pine and oak forests of the Mediterranean basin and in Western Asia. The oil is obtained by extracting with ethanol the fragrant resin of the shrub's twigs, which is called Labdanum or Ladanum. The oil has a balsamic and delicately leathery scent.

The most durable perfume extract contains up to 40% of oils (usually 25%).

ESDP (Esprit de Parfum) waters contain 15-30% oils.

EDP Eau de Parfum contains 12-25% aromatics.

In toilet waters (EDT) - 6-18%.

The colognes are approx. 5-7% of oils.

aftershave - 2-4%.

Refreshing waters, i.e. mists - up to 5%.

To make your own perfume or toilet water, you should mix the oil compositions with alcohol, usually 80%, and leave it in a dark place for a minimum of 3 weeks. It is advisable to shake the perfume bottle at least once a day in order to better mix the oil with the alcohol.

After 3 weeks, the perfume is ready for use.

ABOUT THE OIL

Labdanum is used in the production of incense sticks and in perfumery, has a smell similar to the natural sperm whale amber, which is banned in many countries for the production of perfumes due to its origin. when used in toilet waters, apart from its beautiful scent, it disinfects and prevents unpleasant odors.

Natural oils can sensitize you, so before using it in perfumes, you should test a small amount of the oil on your own skin for at least 24 hours, if there is no reaction, you can use it for the production of perfume or toilet water.
